The streets of champs élysées
Today was a power touring day for us, we began in the champs élysées and the arc de triomphe. Have to say that this was our least favorite area we visited, It is beautiful, but very upscale and not really the kind of thing we enjoy, it reminded me of times square. Well with a little more class😊 We decided that we would not come back here for the new years eve fireworks as we need to be up at 3am to catch our flight to Africa. We were very glad the we made the decision to stay in a much older more quaint area with the amazing little artisan stores and cool coffee shops and pubs everywhere. Versailles was pretty interesting, the grounds are amazing and the guys thought you could land a plane in man made lake. We were impressd with the information on the the king and queens rooms but it was really packed in there and we didnt last very long. From here we needed to hone our metro skills as we made our way to versailles. We are hoping that the skills we learned today will help us make our way to the airport tmr as

Arc de triumph it seems all the taxis are already booked. - update to the metro to the airport... The trains do not run until 5am even tho we asked at least 5 people including the guy at the information booth at the metro station. After a short 2 hour nap we got up and made our way thru the late night rabble rousers and realized that the train station was closed. Oh oh! We managed to hail a cab and for a very inflated price arrived at the airport 4 hours early for our flight. Good grief says Rachel and Curtis - better than walking to the airport and missing our flight says Kevin and Jody. (Jody is Kevin's, "arrive early" ally). We were sad to leave as we really loved this city and hope that we can come back on day and enjoy more of what Paris has to offer😊
