Aurore and I OK! HOLD THE PHONE!
WHO AM I? AND HOW DID I ACQUIRE SUCH AMAZING FRIENDS?
Soooo, last night I got ready for girls night out. Charline, Aurore, Pauline, and I had been planning on having a little soiree together before I left. They invited Rejane too, since I'd introduced them. I was excited, thinking: yeah! girls night! woo!
At 9pm, Charline came and picked me up in her car and drove us to Pauline's place in town. We walk in and Pauline and I do bisous, and they say Aurore is in the living room. I thought it was a little odd that the door was closed, but then Pauline threw it open and inside....
WERE ALL OF MY FRIENDS YELLING "SURPRISE!" with balloons! AH!!! I was totally in shock, and I looked around and saw all of my amazing friends, the effort they went to to decorate, make cute plates of food, and show their love for me! My hands went to my mouth and I was laughing and hugging everyone and tearing up. I couldn't think of anything to say except "Je vous adore!" (I love you guys!)
I did bisous with everyone

Aurore, Jonathan, me and saw that even Jonathon was even there! He'd driven almost two hours to make it!
It took me a while to get my head back to earth, because I was so touched. And Aurore was so thrilled that everything had gone as planned and remained a surprise--apparently they'd been planning this for a while!
We ate and danced and chatted, and then by order of the crowd, I taught them how to do a Texas line dance! We were all well amused and getting tipsy together. The neighbor (who turns out to be the old prefect of police) came down and complained about the music, we apologized and shut the door. Someone made a snide remark about the guy and he rang the door bell and again and said he'd heard it and he wasn't amused, blah blah. Jules was being very diplomatic, but Christophe started getting kind of aggressive (like usual!). But within five minutes it cooled down.
The good times just kept on rolling and then Jose showed up with several other Spanish friends. We put some merenge and salsa on, and Jose taught me how to dance them. He's a charming Spaniard like
that. Then I danced with Jules to Otis Reding. Taking a break, I was talking with some friends, and then Jose's friend Diego (who'd had a little to drink) came over and said, "Tu veux me marier?" (Will you marry me?) to which I replied: "Je dois reflechir... " (I've got to think about it...), and he kept trying to get me to dance with him, but I wasn't really digging the idea. Later, dancing with Jules, I was stabbed! I had taken off my boots and was dancing barefoot when I stomped my foot down on a staple which had just happened to maneuver itself pointy side up! Let's just say it was REALLY in my foot, hurt a lot, and when I took it out there was blood. Someone got some peroxide and Jules dabbed the wound. It still hurt to walk on it afterward, but it wasn't anything too serious.
Around 3am people started leaving, and then at 4am it was just the core seven of us (Jules, Christophe, Stephane, Aurore, Pauline, Charline, me). We hung around and danced some more. Then the guys left and it was just us girls. We ate the heart shaped

Delphine, me, Rejane cake that Charline had baked (so cute!). The sky was starting to pale behind the mountains.
Around 6am, Charline and I finally left to go back to the dorm. We said goodbye and I crashed in bed, totally beat. It had been one of best nights of my life. A true night to remember.
PHOTOS: More coming soon! I didn't take many with my camera, so I have to get the other pics from friends...
