Hello, It's me again,
Sort of a laid back day. Cloudy and a hint of rain. Decided to make a return
to Kaysersberg which is only about 20km away. A lot of the shops are not
open because it is Sunday.Tomorrow we will take the
7:24 train from Colmar, France (15km from us) to eastern Switzerland, where
will meet Gloria's two cousins in Chur,Switzerland. It is a 3 hour trip and we
change trains twice. I beieve Chur is the oldest city in Switzerland. We will spend
about 5 hours there and leave at 4:00 to be back in France by 8:00 pm. It will
be nice to ride instead of drive as I have been driving all over the place since
we arrived. Taking trains is not our norm as we usually have had a lease car
so it is a new adventure for us.
I'm sorry to tell you there are no food pictures (Gene)
Even though the Ka-Bop was an enormous hit! We have also hit our Ka-Bop limit.
Usually the stands or shops are run by Greeks or Turks and to answer the ? -
What is in them;
the ingredients of
Kaysersberg, France
Nice timberframe Building a Ka-Bop or Ka-Bob - (cooking in front of you on a spit) is huge round of lamb that is generously shaved and then added lettuce, tomatoes, onions, leeks and a kind of small banana peppers, (whole).
A special white sauce is squirted on the freshly shaped
and baked flat bread. Most often, it is too big to eat a whole one unless you are
a teenage lad who hasn't eaten for two hours. :-)
It will probably be another 2 years before we eat another!
As always, Merci Ami's

Kayserberg
Howdy, love the photo of Kayserberg. That is awesome. NOTE: I see the submit button today. I think its appearance has do do with the amount of photos you have posted.
