The Village where we are staying
We are here!
A good flight from Denver to Atlanta. A long flight from Atlanta to Zurich. Sort of "Sardines"
on Delta 767, Arrived Zurich at 7:45. Took the train to Mulhouse, Fr. where Mathew picked us up.
That was yesterday (Sat). I'm up this morning at 4:15- can't sleep! Making some plans for this week. Black Forest, Mercedes-Benz Plant/Museum in Stuttgart, Germany etc.
Trying to find a grocery store late on Saturday was difficult. They close early and are not open
on Sunday. We did just make it and got some things for a few days. Especially needed coffee. Can't start the day without it. Jet lag yesterday set in at about 2:00 pm. Nap till 4:00.
Force yourself to get up or I would be up at midnight instead of 4:15 am.
My GPS is going to be a big help but the car we are supposed to use has a defective 12v
port so charging is not going to happen. I don't know the battery life I would guess 3-4 hours.
That is not enough. May take my laptop along and piggy-back through it's battery of which I
have two. Just a few pictures yet. I'll try to

These will make white wine
get some more on the next blog.

Alsace
Hi you two! Have been looking forward to your emails and pictures! Looks like a lovely area and have heard the name from somewhere about wine or maybe when we were there during World War II??? Imagine the Mercedes Benz plant would be really interesting and hope you get to go. I got your email this morning Gloria! I was wondering what the time difference is from here. That jet lag is hard to get over am sure. Hope you can manage without the car charger and that it isn't too hot now without the air. Hope the accomodations work out o.k. both ways. You just never know about people. My sister in Calif. got the place in Laguna where we went for my mom's memorial through the home exchange and they did the hospitality thing and we just couldn't get over someone doing that at the beach and such a beautiful place! She didn't want to exchange or charge for it, so we bought them a case of very nice wine and left it there. It sure has been weird here with the monsoons! Last night was the biggest thunder, lightening, and rain I have ever been in. It went on for at least an hour and kept us awake, but sounded so good! It is because it is so warm even with the cloudiness I guess. So far it is only 80 at 1p.m. so that would be nice if it would stay like that. We went to the Little Britches parade at noon yesterday as Kendra rode her princess thing. It was very tiny, and even Julia got to be in it and walked their dog Merle. She had a tutu on and put one on him too, and he didn't seem to mind a bit! At the end the firetrucks hosed us down good and felt kinda good with the heat! We had our friends Jack and Penny Brown over for dinner last night. We never see them anymore if we don't just make a plan to get together. They go to GRand Mesa Baptist and live by James and retired from Calif. also. Talked to Elaine yesterday and her brother and wife just had gotten back from Calif. and said each day Jerry seemed weaker. He is on a blog from caringbridge with updates on his condition which will make it easier for the family not tohave to be on the phone to everyone. The address is caringbridge.org/visit/PastorJerryZanstra Had a good service at naz.this morning though our pastor was preaching up in Gateway mountains so his son in law who is studying to be a chaplain preached. Looking forward to being at F.H. since we haven't been there for 2 weeks! Our chair arrives tomorrow so hope it is good and we can be done with all this! Well, enough of my stuff, have a great week and hope you get to do lots of hiking and relaxing too! Love and miss you! Sharon and Ed
