Maiju and ME!!!
woo hoo i love hockey!!! So basically I just experienced the best sport in the world. It was amazing to watch. So intense! I just wanted it to keep going and going and well…yeah it was awesome, but I was SO cold. Ice hockey. Yup, there was the first home game tonight! So today is Keskiviikko (Wednesday) which means I don’t start school until 10:15, yes I know WONDERFUL! I was really tired last night so I fell asleep early, at 8pm and slept all the way until 8:20 this morning! It was great! I needed the rest and it made my day the best so far!!!!! I made my self breakfast at 9 and Leena drove me to school because it was raining so much! I went directly to the media room and met some friends. Then I met all these hockey players! I had biology first so I met Maiju and we went together! During bio we were watching a movie in finnish so I wrote a letter responding to Nina’s letter and I also wrote a letter to the Smerechniaks in NYC, thanking them for having me my last week in the US! After bio we had lunch (macaroni and salad) and then
Lotta!
my friend Lotta! I had another free period! I grabbed a computer as everyone was leaving the media room on their way to their next classes and I checked my email! Mom sent me this hilarious email that made me laugh out loud! She also sent me a smoochie kiss! While I was reading my emails I started talking with this guy sitting next to me, his name is Niko and he is a 3rd year! We started talking about how cold it was and stuff but then we talked for the entire free period about everything!!! It was great! I was even a little late getting to my next English class because we talked so long! I had the easy English next and when I got there the teacher said they were doing grammar and I don’t have to attend on grammar days so I had another free period!!!!!! I went back to the media room and Henri was there! He had a free period too! We started talking and then went down to the “couch room” (where there are about 10 couches squished together in this tiny room) to relax! It was so comfortable in there, they play music and ahh
Maiju
my friend Maiju and i at the hockey game! I love it! We talked for a while, then we both had English! English was fun today, I don’t even remember what we did but I had fun! The teacher is having me give a presentation next Friday on New Mexico and my self! I am pretty excited for it! I made a powerpoint and I have a whole half period to fill with information!!!!! So after English my school day was over! I got my coat and started walking home since I had no bike (Leena drove me to school). I had only just left the school when Henri came up on his Moped thingy (which EVERYONE drives here) and gave me a ride home! It was SO much fun! When I got inside I spilled a huge glass of water all over myself and went upstairs to change my clothes. I talked online to Ellen and Max, who are other inbounds from US and we are meeting this weekend in Turku!!!! I am SOO excited! We are going shopping and eating and Max is getting a hair cut and yeah it’s going to be fun! Ellen is coming Friday night and staying with me until Sunday! I also
instant messaged Ama! That was fun but I had to go eat dinner soon after we started talking! Leena smoked the fish we caught at the cottage for dinner and we had eggs and squash too! I was so hyper! I was dancing around, singing and teaching Leena how to Charlston! Then at 8 I went over to Henri’s house and we quickly ran some food over to his grandmothers house next door. We hung out for 20 min then walked over to the ice rink to meet Maiju! Maiju’s boyfriend Eikka is number 17 on the hockey team and he scored the most points last year! I knew 5 of the players on the Naantali team! Two of them are in my biology class and one is in my English class! It was seriously the most incredable sports experience. It is the best sport to watch by far!!!! It made me want to ice skate SOOO bad! I am going to the public skate on Sunday!!! Oh and yes we won! 3 to 1! It was such a fun game! Pucks were flying, people were doing flips on the ice and falling all over the place as fans yelled

Today was great, I don’t really know what made it that way, but it was seriously amazing, marvelous, wonderful, I am so crazy happy and hyper and smiley and i dont know why!!! oh, and I’m sure my host parents think I’m crazy now! So goodnight Finland!
