Saturday morning was our last in Berlin, with only time to pack and make the trek back to Alexanderplatz with our backpacks for another early morning bus departure, this time with Prague as the final destination. We made a stop in the Czech town of Terezín on the way, where we were given a guided tour of the Theresienstadt concentration camp, a Nazi concentration camp which was used to hold military and political prisoners in World War II.

The writing on the gate means "Work Brings Freedom" - ironic, since it didn't for the prisoners here.

Condemned prisoners had to walk through this gate to reach the execution site outside the fortress.

Located just outside the fortress, this site was created as a memorial to the victims of the Holocaust.
