Happy 4th of July!!! I hope there are a lot of BBQ's being fired up, sparklers being lit, and fireworks going off, I miss it! (not too many Czechs celebrating it here) Anywho - onward and upward!
I got up and remembered that the hostel offers a free breakfast! (silver lining) I like free breakfasts at hostels since it’s a great way to meet people (everyone’s gotta eat). I meet two American girls who are going out later to explore the night life of Prague and I asked if I could join in and they seemed happy for me to tag along. I did some laundry first thing after breakfast since it would have time to dry because I am supposed to be here for a few days (we shall see about that since so far Prague isn’t living up to the hype).
I then set out to see what Prague had to offer, my first impressions weren’t great and I was hoping that the city could redeem itself (I have heard so many good things about this city!). As it turns out Prague is gorgeous! My hostel is about 15 minutes outside of the city center and it’s a
little shady, but not too bad once you get used to it.
The buildings and towers are just so impressive and it is quite a sight to take in. I was going to take a free walking tour of the city but decided I wanted to do a little exploring on my own and take a walking tour later on in my stay (definitely staying my full time here). I walked all the way to the river before it started raining again (I stared at my rain jacket and decided against bringing it, bad decision). I then walked back in the rain and got some lunch along the way (food in Prague isn’t great though).
I came back to check my laundry and to my pleasant surprise I was the only one in my 8 bed dorm! I hope it stays that way (at least for a night would be nice). It then stopped raining and I went out for a run in the city (it’s just so impressive!). I then got back and got ready since I was going out with Liz and Sam (the two girls I met at breakfast). We had a beer at the
Black Music!
Just follow the arrow! hostel then walked into the city to go dancing.
We went to a 5 story dance bar where there was a different type of music on every floor (my dream come true, I love dancing!). The first floor was dance music, the second was techno, the third was, oldies, and the fourth was RnB and Hiphop. The funniest part was that the sign for the 4th floor also had a giant sign saying “black music” we all couldn’t stop laughing! (Really?! They just did that?) We had a great time dancing the night away. Prague has definitely redeemed itself!
