Got up early as intended to begin our drive out to the summer house. The countryside here is amazing. All these beautiful small Bohemian towns surrounded by meadows and tranquil forests. This is what I need to do more of on my trip. Followed our GPS guide slowly towards our final destination but the drive was still great. Stopped in a small town along the way to pick up a friend of Ninas as well as to pick up some food and drinks we would need for the next couple of days. Made it there around noon and was pleasantly surprised, as was Nina.

We thought it would be a fairly small and modern place but no, it was quite spacious and very traditional. She was so excited when she saw the old furnace like stove with the bed above it so the heat from cooking can keep you warm in the winter. The place was spectacular. Put our stuff down, got acquainted and headed out the door to go do some hiking. I need to get the name from her but the peak we climbed up was one of the highest in the region. Not that it was

too too difficult. Still it had some cool views and was quite refreshing.

Nearby was an old Czech fortification used along the border with Germany so we hiked over to check it out and ended up taking the quick guided tour of the place. Was pretty cool even though I could not understand anything in Czech. Nina helped me out with some translation but my mind was more focused on how damn cold it was down there. Was freezing! We ended up just leaving the tour early as we were not prepared for the weather down there as we all had hiking gear for 90 degree heat ha.

By the time we made it home we were all starving so we grilled out back and had some sausages, chicken kebabs, salad and the like for quite a feast. Of course, afterwards the Czech beer came out and we all had a good time. Tried out some liquor distilled from plums which Nina brought and swears is a really popular traditional drink here. Not bad at all. Moved inside as it got a little chilly and sat around playing games and talking and having an awesome time with a

couple of lanterns being the only source of light available. Nina was right. Her friends do not speak a ton of English but once they start to drink a bit it really picks up haha. One of the best nights I have had here and something I really needed after being in big cities for too long. The night ended as the beer supply diminished and we all made it to bed after a pretty long day. Great great times.
