The cathedral in the background is part of the castle in Prague.

Oh, i hope i have this information right, but Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor, helped Prague to flourish while he ruled. Among other things, he is responsible for Charles Bridge and St. Vitus Cathedral (which i believe is the one at the castle).

The castle is a complex, like a small city, rather than the single building fortress that i had imagined...
