My flatmate Yasna was on gardening leave, and I had loads of leave owing, which needed to be taken before the end of the year. So we thought a trip to Prague was in order. We rocked up at the airport, Information for the best way to our hotel. Really quite helpful and very informative. Found the hotel, checked in and took off to town for a look around. Being that it was dark we had no real idea where abouts in the centre we were. Found a really neat pub for dinner, it was quite a characteristic pub, with pictures on the wall, the staff were really friendly, (they all wore socks and sandals,.....something we couldnt work out) the food was great and lots of it. The only downfall was that it was a little smokey, but we werent too worried. The whole meal including drinks was only £12 for both of us.

The next day we started with a wander around the old town and found a wee cafe, got a bagel and coffee for breakfast. Wandered around a couple of old cathedrals and found the Charles Bridge, wandered over that and went for a wander around the Castle and its cathedral. There was a Barbie museum and an art museum. All interesting really. Even saw a changing of the guards.

Another day, some more sights to see, this time it was the John Lennon wall, the Funicular Tram, and attempted the Jewish Quarter. The John Lennon wall was a little out of the way, but really quite neat to see, the sculpture of Lennon is now black though instead of bronze/brown, which was a shame. The Funicular Tram was really neat (reminded me of the cog train in Switzerland) Only there was nothing to do at the top, it was all closed as it was winter. The Jewish Quarter was really expensive to go into which was a shame and many people turned away and didnt go in. I was heading to Auschwitcz so i wasnt too worried about missing it in Prague, so there was extra time for shopping.....😊

The day we were leaving to come back to London, was the first day of the Christmas Markets, we checked a couple out, but they were still setting up and werent that great. But it was early days so cant hold it against them.

It was a good weekend, and was a little disapointed to be leaving. The service was great in most places, the people were generally really friendly and everything was within walking distance of everything else. And everything was really cheap, when spending pounds. Recommend it to anyone.
