Planning: Backpacking To The USSR

Day one - Wednesday 5th of September

Take the night train in a sleeper cabin to Budapest departing from Prague Main Station, Czech Republic at 23:30.

Day two - Thursday the 6th of September

Arrive at Budapest Keleti station in Hungary at 8:30 in the morning, take the bus straight from the station to the Airport.

Depart Budapest Feringy airport at 11:15 landing in Targu-Mures airport in Romania at 13:50.

Take the bus to the centre of Targu Mures, have a wander around the town, grab lunch, and then take take a minibus to Sighisoara at 16:30.

Arrive in Sighisoara at 17:40, walk down to Nathans Villa Hostel, check in, go see some of the town, spend the evening socialising etc.

Day three - Friday the 7th of September

Have breakfast in Sighisoara, wander around the town, check out of the hostel and head for the train departing at 11:41 leaving to Cluj-Napoca.

Arrive in Cluj-Napoca at 15:07, head to the Transylvania Hostel and check in for two nights. Friday night see the nightlife.

Day four - Saturday the 8th of September

Tour the city, maybe head to the salt mine in Turda if the trip is not too time consuming. Evening party again.

Day five - Sunday the 9th of September

See more of the city etc then take the bus to Chisinau, Moldova, leaving at 18:00.

Day six - Monday the 10th of September

Arrive in Chisinau, Moldova at 08:00, check into the RETRO hostel early and go find breakfast. Visit a wine cellar in the afternoon / find out what other tourists are doing. Evening see if there is any nightlife.

Day seven - Tuesday the 11th of September

Take a day trip to the country of Pridnestrovie, heading to the cities of Tiraspol and Bendery. Head back to Chisinau early afternoon, find something interesting to do.

Day eight - Wednesday the 12th of September

Spend more time wandering around Chisinau, go to the Zoo, national Museum etc.

Take the night train heading to Bucharest at 17:00.

Day nine - Thursday the 13th of September

Arrive in Bucharest at 07:30, head somewhere for breakfast and then go check in at Explorers Hostel.

18:00 meet at Unirii Square Park for the walking tour of the city.

Day ten - Friday the 14th of September

Wander around the city, at 15:30 meet at Aviatorilor Square for the Bike Tour.

Day eleven - Saturday the 15th of September

Day trip to Sinaia

Day twelve - Sunday the 16th of September

Go see some museums and do souvenir shopping etc.

At 20:10 fly from Bucharest, Romania to Budapest, Hungary, landing at 20:30. Take the bus to the centre and head to the train station to catch the 23:30 bus departing for Prague.

Day 13 - monday the 17th of September

Arrive in Prague at 07:00
