Korcula Island lies beyond the Peljesac Peninsula and we took a small ferry from Orebic to its main town also called Korcula. Ancient Korcula is built on a small peninsular ringed by defensive walls interspaced with towers and with many narrow stepped streets leading up to the central square which contains its cathedral, St Marks.

We had a look around and then caught a bus to the village of Lumbarda which is interesting because it is surrounded by vineyards which prettily run down to its surrounding sandy coves. We had our lunch at one of them and then by a coastal walk, bus and ferry made our way back to Orebic.
