We arrived rather bleary eyed and confused at 6am into a deserted Vienna and managed to negotiate the u-Bahn to find our accommodation next to the imposing Rathaus. Vienna is a sensational city with imperious architecture which brings the former dominance of the Austrian empire into visual perspective. As the morning continued which watched as the city filled up with tourists from all over the globe. Everywhere we looked there were tour guides holding their umbrellas for the trail of bus loads of people. After a morning seeing the sights, the parliment, old town and St stephans cathedral we retired to our digs for a well earned afternoon sleep.
In the evening we were entertained by a Mozart classical concert and then ended the day with a couple of beers underneath the rathaus, which was apt as the scenes from the Euro 2008 was the reason we decided to visit Vienna in the first place. The next morning we departed after a whistle stop tour, destination Czech republic

Tom, Thank you so much for your Card. The grammer was shambolic, the spelling pretty good. I've just bought some Red Leicester that won a Prize at a Cheese Competition in Nantwich. Gave me a warm feeling inside. I know that's a bit cheesy. Sorry. Will enjoy it with oatcakes tomorrow. All very rock and roll in Essex. Hope you have a great time in Wroclaw. More imposing town halls for you. T
