Very eventful day. I will try my best to do this from memory, bit my totals will be way off. I woke up this morning as late as I could, but my eyes were not any better. They were watering all night long. Today is rafting, so I didn’t really bother getting too ready this morning.
Breakfast was like everyday—just bread and jam. I discovered this morning that my Dramamine is gone. That’s bad! I couldn’t take any before our long ride out of Switzerland. I did get to sit in the front seat, but that meant the sun was in my eyes, which were already in enough pain.
Switzerland was so perfect. I hope I can come back one day. It’s just so expensive, so it will have to be after I’m rich. I heard that they keep the prices so high because they don’t want anyone to actually live there. Interesting.
Our first stop was in Liechtenstein, which I’m not even sure if its spelled right, but its very small. It has fewer people than UCF! I bought a roll, Aloe, and candles for about ₣15. Then I went back later for M&Ms and water (₣5.50).
Tirol
River in Austria I also got to change my Swiss Francs over into Euros, and I got about €15 back.
Then we drove our way into the whitewater rafting place. We hit a bit of traffic, but we made it there around 1:30pm. The whitewater rafting was an absolute blast! Since my eyes were so red this morning, I wore my glasses instead of my contacts. This meant that they gave me a little string to hold my glasses to my head. I looked like a grandma. Embarrassing. The wetsuit itself didn’t fit so nicely—really tight on the legs, and loose at the top. Story of my life. So after we were suited up, it was time for making groups. I sat down to fix my wetsuit, and I notice that everyone has been put into groups already. Looks like I am in the group with all the boys. Great! So we meet our very cute British raft guide, Adam, and he shows us how to row and safety stuff. I just liked to listen to him talk.
So then we took up our heavy raft, and moved in to the water. Honestly, I didn’t find it THAT cold. It’s like
dipping into a pool. Cold, but you can get used to it. And so we position ourselves, and we are off.
The rapids were not really all that strong. The hardest part was trying to keep up with the boys without looking like a wimp. The ride down the river was very scenic, and I wish I could have brought a camera. A the end of the river, the guides had a competition to see who could get their raft more vertical. I don’t know who won, but I just remember looking up at our raft, and then looking up at Adam, as he says to lean back. Okay, Adam…
Before I know it, I’m in the water, and Mick is holding on to me by the ankles. You might as well let me go at this point, Mick. So I got a little swim in the water, and everything was dandy. After the raft was out, I bought a souvenir pic for €8. I didn’t get to eat anything though, an dI was hungry. I didn’t really get to shower either. So I just got changed, and we headed into Innsbruck for some sightseeing.
We first got
to Innsbruck and we saw the Golden Roof. I am pretty sure we stayed for less than 8 minutes. Milman was right! I took my pictures and videos at the Golden Roof, and then we were off.
Charlotte and I first stopped at the Schnapps tasting place. The schnapps were very strong, like 50%, so I tried some liqeaurs. I bought peach liquor for about €10. Then we walked around some more looking for a patch. Finally, we found one, and I bought two little bears for the Mendoza girls, totaling around €5.
After all that wandering, we secretly decided to stop at McDonalds. But just for a snack! I figured that frieds should be ok, because I didn’t have any money and I didn’t have time to stay long either. That was about €2. Then we looked into the Swarovski crystal, where I saw a donkey in the window. Perfect for my mom! After much searching and dialogue, it ended up being a moose. Boo.
We met with Brek again, and headed for the hotel. The hotel, like everyone we have been at, was pretty nice. For some reason, dinner was spread in different rooms, so

Ignore the fact that I look like a hot mess. we are with the American girls. We noticed all these huge black guys staying at our hotel, and we were wondering if they were some kind of football team. Interesting.
After dinner, everyone wanted to head out in town. So I showered, put on my lucky shirt, and got ready for going out. Charlotte was not really feeling well, so it was just Eva and I.
We were all supposed to meet at 9:30, and when we went down, most people were at the hotel bar, waiting for the taxis. This turned into a lot of waiting. By 10:30, we were all fed up, and the first half of us decided to head to the Hoff Garden Bar As soon as we got there, we found out it was €15 to get in. Well, forget that! So then there was a lot of discussion about leabing to find another place, or to wait for those who haven’t arrived yet, or to stay. It was quite hectic. Then, Mel got us a deal for €10, so we thought that was ok enough for us to say. And we waited for a long enough time for Brek and the rest to come around.
As soon as he arrived, he walked right past us and got us in for €5. Alright. So we walked in, and tried to inch out way into the bar, where I found out that my coupon didn’t pay for my vodka orange.€6.40), and we headed outside with the gang again. By that time, my drink is gone, and so I try to head to the bar again.
AND Then the best part comes… The whole football team is there at the bar. And I’m the only girl around! YES! I definitely got my flirt on with several of the hotties on the team.
Finally, it was 1:00, and w all had to leave. But tonight is the eve before Charlotte’s birthday, so Eva and I had to decorate with the streamers I had been hiding this whole trip. All in all, a very very good day.
