Hey everyone,

So how has snowy Austria been treating us?

Well.....on thursday evening we was invited to an awards ceromony as both the children have won karate awards, we were so excited to actually get out and wear non farm people clothes!! we were told to dress casual and comfortable...so i put on jeans and davy wore joggers! we arrived and all we could see was people in suits and ladies in long dresses! as we walked in there was cameras flashing in every direction and a long red carpet leading up some stairs!! the photographer was chatting away in german and im assuming he was asking us to stand still for a photo! and before we could explain that we were literally just helpers that work on a farm the camera was going mad at us! like we were celebrity guests! was so awkward...we then walked up the stairs and was greeted by men in bow ties with trays of various alcoholic drinks in posh glasses...we grabbed one quick and attempted to hide in the background! but no.........we were told to move forward and was really close to the front and had to listen to many german ´guest speakers´and volleyball champions and goodness knows what else!!

Yesterday we were completing the normal day to day tasks when we found the family cat dead!!! was so sad and she had been hit by a car so we had to go and break the news to the family! she has a kitten too called Prince who now has no mummy!!

A new helper also arrived yesterday and she had hitch-hicked all the way from Paris!! and has not spent a single penny! so the evening was spent with her trying to tell us stories and us trying to understand and over come the language barrier...today she didnt wake up until almost 11 and we have to wake at 8 to feed animals

Last night we were asked if we wanted a sauna! ...we were really up for it until we found out it was naked sauna!!!! ´family naked time´is never necessary.....i was told i was ´very english´for thinking that and that sometimes its good to do something out of your comfort zone...... not so sure

Today Davy is really unwell....and has been given the day off to relax upstairs!! its horrible him being ill and not being home to relax in own space! so im trying to care for him and do my normal tasks for the day

I have to go make bread now for lunch....we also have made some cheese!!!...but Austrians have never heard of marmite

when we get to salzberg on tuesday my main plan is to chill and write letters and postcards as havent done yet because we havent had a single day off

we are going sledging later today as we have lots os snow!!

Love u and miss u all more each day
