El dia ha empezado a las 3:30 de la mañana. Me he despertado y he recogido mis cosas para estar esperando el bus que baja de Sana Elena hasta Las Juntas a las 4:20. Desde las juntas es asfalto y por tanto se puede andar bien en bici. Pero el conductor me ha dicho que su bus no tiene sitios para bicis y no he conseguido hacerle cambiar de idea, asi que he vuelto al hostal y he echado una cabezadita de una hora. A las 5:30 volvemos a empezar, a la otra parada de autobus para pillar el que baja a Puntarenas via Lagartos. El busero me ha vuelto ha decir que lo ve mal con la bici, pero en esta ocasion me ha dicho que va a hacer una excepcion conmigo, pero a cambio de una propinilla de 10 dolares en mano... Dada la situacion he pagado y el tema se ha solucionado. El camino de bajada no era tan malo podria haber bajado en bici si lo hubiese sabido. A las 9 estaba en la interamericana, en donde cruza con el rio Lagartos, y me he puesto en marcha. Calor infernal todo el dia, pero no he ido mal, en general los conductores han sido muy correctos y a partir de Cañas estan ampliando la carretera y he ido mucho rato sobre la cama de hormigon de la carretera nueva mientras el trafico circulaba por la vieja. Esta zona es la mas caliente de costa rica, ya no hay selva, sino prados con arboles, vacas y ranchos. Ademas ya no hay ardillas, ahora hay iguanas gordas a los lados de la carretera. He llegado a Liberia para las 3, despues de liberia tengo 40 km hasta el siguiente camping, pero estaba sin provisiones y no da tiempo a llegar en 2 horas para estar acampando para el anochecer. Asi que hostal de 9 dolares hoy y a dormir mucho.

The day started at 3:30 am. I woke up and I collected my things to be waiting for the bus down to Las Juntas at 4:20. After there the road is asphalt agian and therefore you can ride a bike again. But the driver told me that his bus does not have places to bike and I have not managed to change his mind, so I returned to the hostel and I gotd a nap for an hour. At 5:30 I went to the other stop to catch the bus that goes down to Puntarenas via Lagartos. The bus driver has again said that it does not seem to be possible to take the bike, but this time told me that he is going to make an exception with me, but in exchange for a 10 dollars in hand... Given the situation I paid and the issue is resolved. The way down was not so bad, I could have done it on the bike, if I had known. At 9 was on the InterAmerican , where the river Lagarto crosses, and I've set up. Infernal heat all day, but I have not gone bad, drivers generally have been very correct and from Cañas ahead there is buildind on the road and I've been riding long time on the concrete bed of the new road while traffic was going on the old. This is the hottest area of Costa Rica, there is no rain, but grassland with trees, cows and farms. Furthermore there is no squirrels, now there are fat iguanas on the roadside. I have come to Liberia at 3 pm, after here I have 40 km to the next campsite, but I was without provisions and not enough time to get in two hours before dark. So hostel for 9 dollars today and sleep a lot.
