Advice for 7 day trip to Costa Rica

My best friend and I are flying into San Jose, Costa Rica on Feb 11 and need some advice on where to go from there. We don't want to stay in San Jose we mostly want to surf, scuba dive, and trek through the jungle. Where should we go and what should we do? Cheap places to stay would help too.
