Our private villa at the Peace Lodge in the La Paz Waterfall GardensIt was our 1 year anniversary so we decided to spend a night in a honeymoon suite. It was still not that expensive and it was just amazing. It was situated at the top of a hill overlooking a rainforest full of waterfalls with a hummingbird garden and a giant butterfly enclosure.
Our villaLook they put our name on it (well they put my name on it cause I booked it (hows that for the battle of the sexes!)
The bed in our villa at The Peace LodgeAnd here is a picture of the first animal I came across...although not native to the area it appeared quite tame and comfortable in its surroundings.
Here it is- ready to mate...............
Well isn't that inviting ;)
Dan ready for a jacuzziDan ready for a jacuzzi on the balcony of our villa at the peace lodge
The Waterfall GardensOne of the waterfalls in the gardens below the Peace Lodge. This one was spraying us with water and it was a little cool in this area compared to the rest of costa rica (since we were up high).
The butterfly gardenThis garden was full of giant bright blue butterflies flapping around our heads but they just came out as blurs in the photos. Oh well..it still looks nice.
Dan in the Hummingbird GardenDoesn't he look excited!!! (this was after I made him pose for ten minutes waiting for a bird to sit on his hand. Of course when one finally did- I took the photo too late and it had already flewn off (they're fast buggers those hummingbirds).
A hummingbirdThey are smaller than they look in the photos (think of the smallest bird you have ever seen....well they are smaller than that!)
