What a long day it has been. Too tired to use the tiny laptop we brought so I'm cautiously typing this entry on my phone. My apologize if the auto correct doesnt understand what I am typing.

6am I left my kitty olive and minne-snowtah to embark on this adventure. After waiting for an hour at MSP, three hours to Dallas-fort worth then another hour wait and three hour plan ride we made it to Belize city.

Boy was I surprised to walk down the tarmac to see the little airport in front of me. Chris and I went to the duty free store even before we got our luggage to both indulge in our favorite vices. His of course being cigars and mine being captain Morgan. Both purchases were relatively cheap and passed the time before heading to security to board our next flight.

Security consisted of one small X-ray, a metal detector and two stern looking men. Once we boarded the 12'seat plane a moment of panic washed over me and I couldn't help but to think of the book hatchet. Where were the food packs in case we went down and had to dive back to the plane like that boy did. And damn why didn't I bring a hatchet.

All was well and we landed on a small dirt airstrip surrounded by small houses on stilts inSan Pedro on the island of ambergris caye. A smiling man named george picked us up in a brand of van which I still cannot identify and proceeded to show usvous downtown.

Many emotions went through me as I looked around. Everyone had a smile but all were very poor with little to no infrastructure. we drove north and tried to avoid potholes in the dirt. When we pulled up to our home for the next week i was shocked. So beautiful even in the dark.

We walked up the beach after settling in for dinner at rendezvous. I recently ravished in the best meal I have ever ate at tom colocchio's (top chef judge) craftsteak in Vegas and rendezvous would have to be my next favorite.

We started out with drinks. Mitch and Melissa had the local Rendezvous Estates Chardonnay and I had Belizean Rum. Chris had a Coca-Cola Light. Appetizers were quickly brought Pate Maison with Apples and Raspberry Vingerette and Combo Exotica which was a collection of tuna tartare, thai salad and crab puffs. For the main course lobster tail was enjoyed which is only in season until Monday. Chris found his overpowered by the sauce as he enjoys a simple lobster but Mitch and Melissa found theirs to be perfect. Not being a lobster fan myself, I enjoyed the catch of the day, Grouper with Mushroom sauce. Yum.

I have indeed finished this entry on Sunday morning as I literally fell asleep writing this entry and enjoying my first cuban cigar with Chris on the balcony.

I'm off to relax in the hot tub.
