Have now had lunch, 3 hour seista and last swim in the med sea. just across road but 2 lane highway with nad drivers and 2 tram tracks before you get there. Kusidasi in Turkey entertaining to say the least, only there for one day so didnt see much more than the city and surrroundings as we cruised in and out. Back from the cruise, absolutely fabulous and a lot better than the postcards. The ship wasn't brilliant but the islands certainly were. Mikonos was fantastic to walk through very narrow streets and in between the stones it was painted white, of course there was a heap of other tourists so very busy. Watched the amazing sunset right on the beach front drinking wine and eating the best olives i have ever eaten. Sea was crystal blue just like one would expect. Just had a meal in hotel restaurant didnt enjoy it much and cost us a lot of money. Have noticed the difference in cost of things from Italy to Greece. We were paying up to 3 euro for a bottle of water and now only 40cents. In Italy we were paying up to 2 euro to go to the loo now we dont pay but arent able to put toilet paper down the loo(goes in an open bin beside the toilet) - We are glad we arent the maids! Fortunately we didnt have queus in Rome because we had tour guides so paid quite a bit but was ... read more

Another day in paradise, except for the fact Greece is so dirty and untidy have arrived. Via Corinth canel which is a fantastic site. Staying in coral hotel just across rd from med ocean again,pity the road seems to be a mason rd for the 5 mil people to get around city, there is so much salt inn the sea that you can float without moving. . Have seen the wild fires over the last 2 days could even see the flames. Went to myceanea today dates from 16th century BC fascinating stuff ,have the parthenon tomorrow then wE reckon we will be ruined out. And another thing ticked of the bucket list,swam in the med sea. Bugger now sitting in the bar with the sea lapping at the outside wall. Lovely littleplace tolo at bottom of Greece Been Olympia ,Venice was fantastic great gondala ride. Bloody hot every day having fantastic time an loving everything Ow in Greece of to Athens tomorrow. Dmy how time flys when Havin fun. Just had Meal in Venice amzing at night. Don't get much time to do blogs and haven't even done diary. The bags getting full will need to do post home I think. saw Juliets Balcony in Verona plus the arena which is 200 years older than colosium and still has Marble on it. Some of the sts in Verona made of marble. Florencebeautiful got some culture and went to ufizi gallery plus bought handbags as one must do, walked for miles and their cathedral is the most beautiful we have seen so far. Woke early,finished the baileys now waiting for breakfast to start. Been to the big flash malls which are like any around world found the best place is karama area as its where the locals shop. No so clean but great atmosphere and some great barging to be had. Went for tour of mosque very interesting. In the middle of Ramadan so no drinking or eating during daylight so not a lot done during day. Palm island incredible Atlantis hotel on outer rim has 1036 rooms and set on over 100 acres with 26 dolphins in 11hectre. Taxis very cheap. Hotel not brilliant but haskitchen and washing machine plus get views from roof top pool. What a fantastic place and very hot. Been riding camels in desert and mad sand dune ride in land cruiser hop on hop of bus been great Dunai blown us away and certainly worth staying longer. Palm island and atlantis magnificent. This bloody iPhone giving grief so I am going to sign of and pack bag for early Morning flight to Rome... read more
