really a note to Mark
Nice haircut, Vince. The massage must be a European thing, they do it here too but before the cut. Sounds like you are finally letting the company know the real Vince Kramer. Mark...since Vince is so technical, just think miles are about 1/2 the km (I, too, am just a US girl and just use this shortcut, with all the traffic in Europe, you can never tell how long it will take even if you know how far 20 km are anyway) And I hope you are at least allowing Torque to crawl under the covers to sleep on your feet, but I guess it isn't cool in GA yet. He does like the head the best! Do I need to send him some more toys? Thanks for taking over the cat watch while Vince is on his little adventure.

Glad you're doing well. Sorry I haven't written more, I'm enduring a horrible tooth ache until I can get to the dentist Tuesday morning for a root canal. And I hate dentists more than anything in this world. Class is still kicking my behind but I only have 2 more weeks so I'll make it. Can't wait to see more pictures. Take care.

Loved the pictures. I got my first Reserve Grand Champion today, with Coco of all things. Told the kid that won I didn't want the trophy since we gave it, so told the judge to give it to him. Ha I would of taken it in a heart beat. Ha Take care.

Not Far Enough
That is only 6.21 miles! Poor Torque, who is keeping him warm at night? I am glad he is getting along well.

The Box Made It
I did not even try to call because I know you are busy with the Show, but the package made it all intact. Thank you, the platter is perfect and my first "test" batch of buckeyes were a hit today at work. Everyone was so impressed and asked for more. I may have to break down and get some cookie trays and other needed cooking utensiles.

Coffee
Most of the coffee here is instant, but not too bad. Actual, much better than the instant coffee we have in the States, but to me, not as good as a fresh pot of brewed coffee from the Kramer's water (well)! I have yet to see a StarBucks, but we do have a fast growing chain that is very similar to StarBucks. They are not here in Obninsk, but I read about them in the Moscow Times and saw a few of them around town when I went to Moscow.

So True
We all do need to give thanks for the many things we have. It is amazing the things we take for granted. P.S. Send the washer/dryer combo my way; I need it in 220 V, please. Do you take rubles, I am out of dollars..lol

Some Medicine
Thank goodness I did bring some of my own medicines with me. It is not that you can not get them here, but it is knowing what you need and having to have someone go with you. You can not just run down to the CVS or Walgreens and pick out what you need. Thank goodness I am feeling a little better. Still not 100%, but a lot better. I am off to bed, I will write more later and I did skip volleyball tonight so I could rest. I do not know exactly, but something about bringing good health. I will see if I can find out more about the bush/branch beating thing...lol

It's strange how many things we take for granted here are such a relief when you're so far away, ie., toilet paper, tissues, kool-aid, clothes dryer (btw I saw a show that was advertising a washer/dryer combination all in one machine! and thought of you) and the biggest thing of all - communicating with others. We really need to say thanks for the little things we take for granted here.

So sorry that you're sick and so far away from home. Finding a reliable/ clean doctor and the meds you need sounds like a lot of trouble for someone who is sick to have to endure. Did your volleyball team or anyone tell you what the tradition of the bush is all about?

Eye Is Better
I am still not sure what it is I am putting in my eye, but it seem to clear it up and I think you are right, it was a cold in the eye because I know I have a major cold in the body now! I have done nothing but sleep this weekend. I thought I was feeling better yesterday, but I do not think so. I sound terrible and still coughing, sneezing and blowing my nose!

Well you should have your measuring cup by now so you can make the kool-aide just right. btw if you just wanted to be chased around in the heat and beat with a bush.. sure you could have gotten that here in the US..... I will check Craigs list for you :-)

had to laugh
Well had to put a note to the next blog. Yes I know how you feel about dirty fingernails. Think you are smart to keep in contact with your US DR. Sounds like your sister is taking care of you. Do you really need measureing cups? I'll see about a care package, your blog keeps me up to date and that is worth a care package

poor boy
Sounds like you are falling right in with the rest of us. Hard worker. Ha Glad you got to play volleyball, I know you enjoyed it in the states but is age catching up with you? That could be part of the problem. Hope your eye gets better, might have a cold in eye if you are getting a summer/fall cold never know. But hope it gets better.

It is funny
Everyone at work was laughing at me as well because I was "all of this talk" about playing volleyball then come to work the next day looking like I did. I have to admit, today was better, but still very sore! I skipped, not because of the soreness, but because of this summer/fall cold I am coming down with and working third shift tonight. So I left at noon then went to bed for the evening. Just now getting up and getting ready for work tonight. Was there a good showing this year? I was not sure with it being that far North and West. Good presentations? Thanks for the updates!

YUM
Yes I remember the audits but luckily I was not involved much. I have one myself in a few months if the new products come into Bossier as they're supposed to. I'll come do your audit if you take my class that I'm in now for me! lol You sound like you're in an awful lot of pain. Take some good vitamins and lots of aspirin! A shot of Jack probably wouldn't hurt either. I'll try to send some of this 100 degree weather we're having here your way. Take care.

Laughing at you, sorry : )
Oh my gosh, I was laughing about your soreness, but also feeling empathy. I skin coated (spread concrete) the side of the stem wall (foundation) on our flip house on Sunday and kneeling all day and adding concrete to the side of the house just about did me in. I could hardly stand up yesterday. I'm not the "hard a**" I thought I was because those muscles were abused, big time, and are screaming. This is day 3 and it's better. If your eye is a blocked tear duct, put a HOT wet washcloth on it. Stick it in the microwave to keep it hot (the washcloth, not your eye!). Russia may not have washcloths - France and Germany didn't - but you get my drift. Missed seeing you at IAFP! Calgary was cool and clean. Robach wasn't there either. Word on the street is that Pilgrim's is taking over Gold Kist. I'll send the letter to your e-mail.

Not Surprised
Yes, I heard about this, but did not realized it rose to 300 people. This really does not surprise me and it is very difficult to get the importance of temperature control and sanitation across to everyone.

Moscow salmonella outbreak
No. of victims in Moscow food poisoning rises to 300 17.aug.06 RIA Novosti Russian News and Information Agency http://en.rian.ru/russia/20060817/52753404.html MOSCOW - The Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare, which is investigating the incident, was cited as saying that a total of 301 foreign and Russian construction workers have now been hospitalized in Moscow and its environs with food poisoning. All the patients are suffering similar symptoms: high temperature, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. The patients are largely in a satisfactory condition, but some have contracted a severe form of a "food bacterial poisoning," the service said. Earlier reports said the workers could have contracted Salmonella poisoning, a potentially lethal infection that affects the gastrointestinal system. The service said food delivered for the workers was to blame, but added the source of the infection was still to be specified. On Tuesday, when the first patients arrived in hospitals, the workers were served breakfasts and lunches - soft-boiled eggs, meat sandwiches, rice with lamb and carrots, onions and spices, and a salad - cooked by a private firm. The service also said the workers had their meals served in improper sanitary conditions, adding that, "Numerous violations of sanitary rules for cooking have been revealed during the investigation." Be careful! Thanks for the post!

That is their belief
Honestly, you are correct and that is their thought process. Why refrigerate for only a few months out of the year? I keep running into that at the plant. We do not use refer trucks because by this time next month, it will be cold and we do not need to spend the money.

I found fur hats and scarfs, but no coats yet. It is still warm here so I maybe in a month.
