July 4, Getting Ready to Hike I traveled to Grenoble, France by way of Lyon, London, Houston, and Albuquerque. We started at the Hotel Des Alpes, two blocks from the train station. It was a hot and humid day and there was no cooling in the hotel room. Grenoble is a past host city of a Winter Olympics and had a gondola called the telepherique the went up to le fort de la Bastille, giving a good view of a nearby mountain called le Moucherotte. I explored this on the last day of the tour. We were up at 6:40 the next morning for a continental breakfast of rolls and croissants with chocolate milk and juice.
