Travel Day - Yellowstone - Bozeman, MT Woke up fairly early, everyone got dressed - it was cold around 38 degrees. Packed up the tent etc...Jumped in the car, made a quick stop at the General Store and off we went. We made the drive north to Mammoth where we made a quick pit stop. We then climbed back into the car and drove north out of the park through Gardiner, Mt and made our way to Bozeman, MT. While rain threatened the entire way, we made it without rain. We checked into the hotel and quickly went off to lunch at Famous Daves BBQ - it was excellent and I also noticed that there is no tax at restaurants here! Now it was finally time to get cleaned up. We went back to the hotel ... read more

Yellowstone National Park Got out of the tent around 7 and it was quite cold, probably around 38 degrees. Got dressed, walked around and woke everybody up around 8. Today was going to be a less hectic day than the previous few. Everybody got dressed and we left to go to Old Faithful. Once again we stopped at the General Store in Grant and ate breakfast in the car. We arrived at Old Faithful around 9:45am, Old Faithful had just erupted, so we had about 40 minutes to look around. We started out at the visitor center, and then went to listen to a ranger talk about wolves, it was for the kids but very informative. Around 10:15 we made our way over to the bleachers that surround the geyser. Behind us was construction work taking ... read more

Yellowstone National Park Woke up, showered got dressed, packed the suit cases, checked out of the hotel. We stopped by the General Store in Canyon Village to grab some breakfast, they didn’t have much, we got some muffins and we had some cereal for the boys. We started our drive south towards Grant Campground in the Lake Region of YNP. As soon as we started driving we saw a Mule Deer on the side of the road and of course we saw a ton of Buffalo on our ride, while Ethan also spotted a herd of Elk. We got to the campground around 9:30am, we checked in and they found us a campsite that was vacant so we could setup camp now, and not have to worry about it later in the day; which was very ... read more

Grand Teton National Park / Yellowstone National Park We woke up, and broke down the campsite, as we were taking things out of the tent a deer ran by, about 10 yards from us, Ethan thought it was really “cool”. After we packed up the car, we made our way over to Colter Bay village, where I stopped in the store and bought some bagels and cream cheese for breakfast. We then went on a hike, Ethan was all excited for hiking. So, away we go, the hike started out at Jackson Lake, which was a nice view of the Tetons in the background with the lake and boats in the foreground. Well, all Noah wanted to do was watch the boats. But in due time we continued along a wide fairly flat trail. The further ... read more

Grand Teton National Park We woke up and it was very cloudy and looked like rain. We got dressed, got in the car and started driving. We had breakfast in the car and started sightseeing. The sites of the Grand Tetons were magnificent. Amy and the boys really seemed to like it. We pulled over at many of the turnouts for pictures. We slowly made our way to Jenny Lake where we stopped an looked around at the lake and Ethan and I went down to the lake (at 10 yards of hiking). Then we got back in car and drove down to Jackson, Wy and then made our way over to Teton Village (Jackson Hole Ski Area). Leave Denver and drive to Colter Bay in Grand Teton National Park (GTNP) We left the hotel right on schedule at 8:30am we had to make a quick stop north of Denver to pick up some Rockies tickets that I purchased for the game on July 11th, without Ethan finding out, because we want it to be a surprise. We met the person at a McDonalds and Ethan has no idea. We continued our drive around 9:20 headed for GTNP. The route we took would take us through: Fort Collins, CO Cheyenne, WY - not really through it but around it Laramie, WY - wanted to stop for a bathroom break, but we blinked and missed it - so we had to pull over on the side of the road to let Ethan go Rawlins, WY ... read more

Leave Fort Lauderdale Aiport for our flight to Denver International We were supposed to take off at 3:05 pm - finally depart around 3:30 due to bad weather Flight overbooked At our gate, as we were waiting to board the plane we ran into Alfredo Ameziga of the Florida Marlins - he was flying to Denver to see a Knee specialist in Vail. Amy and the boys went over to meet him, he was very courteous to them. Extremely bumpy for about the first 1-1/2 hours - then smoothed out Noah was very sleepy (due to his medicine prior to the flight), he slept on Amy’s lap for most of the flight - about 2/3 of the way through the flight Noah threw-up all over the plane, floor, seat, isle and himself. We didn’t have an ... read more
