Principal, Ecuador Today was a fun day. Jose and I cooked lunch of Shrimp scampi over linguine. Then, Jose, Miggy, Kathy, Michelle, Jose's mom, neighbor Carmen, and I hiked up the mountain to pick fruit. There were lots of trees: apples, peaches, plums, sambals, tree tomatoes, blackberries... I ate as much as we picked! To take the fruit you use a long stick called an agalla, a word in Quetzchua. They fall down into a blanket and then we put them into a basket. There are so many beautiful flowers, most I have never seen before. Kathy and I threw rose petals at each other. Now we have walnuts from the tree out back. Jose is opening them with a hammer. The neighbor is weaving a straw hat, she say's she's going to teach me.
