:) good job! how long have you been waiting? its must be crazy to start again...but you are tough
guess what is on tv? love actually! so its actually funny that i am reading your blog and hearing the movie.
congratulations on sticking it out!
"the life" I think "another paid vacation" is the berries in that you'll have plenty of WORK time in your future. Your eldest brother is no doubt jealous that he didn't join the PC to enjoy the same work!! Have fun and enjoy whatever you do and wherever you go. Sounds great to me!!! I love hearing about your experiences and journies. Keep 'em coming!! Hugs, Aunt J
Christmas in Labe Hey Rose,
Sounds like Christmas in Conakry was wild! Loads of people. Christmas in Labe was quiet. Kyan, Brian, and I did lovely bike ride and Geoffrey, Christine, and Forrest caught up with us in Kyan's village. It was awesome!

Thanks for writing,

"Happy New Year" Wishing you a very happy and healthy new year, Rosemary. It's almost sad that I don't have EXCITING THINGS TO WRITE ABOUT like you do. It's life as usual, which I suppose at times you long for. Anyways, stay safe, positive, and happy like it seems you are!! Best of everything, Love, Aunt J
Hey Thanks Merry Christmas Rosie! I miss you like crazy. I am home for the holidays and sometimes wondering why I left that warm weather in FL (80's) and yummy oranges! But I want to come home to see the Fam and ski. Yeah, no such luck this year...no snow! I think the snow Gods know that I don't have you to go with...so they said forget it....then "NO SNOW FOR YOU!" hahaha I do miss chatting with you and hangin' out! Sounds like everything is going well over there...Thanksgiving sounded great! ...yet that strike business doesn't sound too good. Keep us updated and I look forward to hearing from you via blogs! I enjoy reading them! Helps the time pass till I see you next. Think of it this way though...when you get back you will have 2 X-mas's worth of gifts waiting and 2 b-days too! SWEETNESS FOR YOU!! When you get back I promise I won't forget your birthday either! hahha sorry bout' that! MIss ya cuz! Thanks for the b-day wish! MIss you ...love Jaim
hahaha well, i guess you've learned not to ever put your food on a table to eat, huh? learn something new everyday :o) glad to hear you're still conquering the continent. keep it up bella!
care package I gave Mom a bunch of MP3 cd's and a bunch of pictures taken this past summer (before and after you left). She mailed them sometime before Thanksgiving, so hopefully you will get them soon. Apparently she has to disguise everything she sends you to increase the chances of you recieving them. Mom could send you her 1985 cell phone if that would help you. She is still amazed that speed dial allows you to save entire numbers to a single button. I think I am number 4.
"Belated Happy Turkey Day" Thanks, Rosemary, for the happy turkey day wishes. Glad you got to enjoy a "bird", too, in that I would have thought that was a has been for you!!! We were in Florida celebrating Jaimee's 25th with her as well as Thanksgiving. T'was great weather there and then we had to come home to this cold cold cold stuff. Like yuck! Happy holiday's to you as we enter into the season, and here's to hopefully having as nice a Christmas as you did Thanksgiving. Have fun always, and thanks again for all of the very interesting and enjoyable reading!! Love, Aunt J
You're Great Hey Rose,
I'm reading your blog for the first time, and so far (up to this date that is) it sounds amazing. You are a teacher now! That's so amazing! Are you going to have photos online at any point, do you think? Also, I was wondering if you would like me to start printing out these blogs and dating them and making them pretty. Is anyone doing that for you? If not, I definitly will. This should be a book some day! I would like to show this blog to my students, is such a cultural experience for me and of course for them! I miss you!!!! Talked to Carrie and Emily the other day, we always talk about how SWEET you are!
A package for you is in the works, please tell me what you need! A long book perhaps? Supplies like tampons? tylenol? chocolate? I can make you MP3 cds as well. Let me know!
-love,
mel
Happy Thanksgiving Hey there Rosie:
I hear that Thanksgiving is going to be rather small this year in MI, because you and I are gone, along with Eric and Amy are up north! Crazy. I'm getting really bad about checking my email but feel free to call me anytime or email me! Miss you tons lady and Happy Thanksgiving!~~Your Cuz, Jaim
makes my day Hi Rosemary, I really enjoy reading your blog. It makes my day. I can imagine a monkey flying across the room to get your food., but it is hard to imagine a class full of young teenagers behaving themselves while waiting for the teacher.
"Tigers" In case you've not heard, the Tigers lost the Series. Boo Hoo. They were doing so great..............but there's always next year. Just thought I'd let you know in the event no one else emails you this weekend, which is when you said you'd be in Mamou. Hope you get this okay. Seems I sent another comment but it didn't get to you or some such return info. It's cold, wet, and yucky here, so enjoy your nice weather. Ours is BAD and into an early fall/winter, already. Take care and we think of you often. Love, Aunt J
Wonderful Blog Reading Hi Rose: Gotta say I haven't read anything as interesting in YEARS. That's pitiful, I know,.............but I'm loving your wonderful Guinea blogs. Keep 'em coming, we miss you, but enjoy all this newfound information about your experiences there. Enjoy each and everyday with all of your new experiences, and thanks for writing. Love Aunt J
the locals I have to admit, this is the kind of behavior I expected from the locals. You obviously are more wealthy than they are so they want something from you. That's why I am happy with being white trash so nobody will ask me for anything. By the way, does that "White person, give me a woman" actually work? I love how they refer to you as white person. What would happen if you yelled "hey black person!" in Detroit? You would probably not be greeted with a smile. Tell me more about this hippopotumus in your room.
whats y our address Miss you, it sounds like you're having an exciting time!! However what is your new address, the only one I have is ( see below). Is this right??

Fote! At the time I didn't understand him, but now it all makes sense. Downtown at the Tiger game, an African American fellow who was apparently between careers yelled to me, "Give me some money!". I told him no. He replied with fote you, or go fote myself, or fote off, or something to that effect. I really had trouble understanding what he was saying. Now I know that he meant nothing hateful towards me and that he was just referring to me as a white person.
I just found your blog! Rose you are my hero. I'm getting ready to apply for the peace corps and you make it sound so fun. I'm getting really excited. I want to send you a care package so if you have time let me know what you need or what me to send you. I hope your having a great time.
Hey Rose!! I love reading about your experiences in Africa!! Everything you write about is so fascinating. I knew you would adapt well- you are so brave and smart! I hope you are able to keep up with the blog. I'll be sending you some fun stuff in the mail soon (hopefully you will get it). Take care of yourself, be safe, and have fun!
MIT Hey Rose. I saw somewhere about your journal so I checked it out. We're in the third week of classes and its already a bear, so you have that to look forward after your stint in peace corps. Jordi says hi. Good luck with the rest of your teaching.
SWEETNESS! Wow Rosie! This all sounds sooo great! What an adventure! I can't wait to hear more. I actually have been printing out whatever you put on you blog to keep! That way when I miss you...I can just look at them! Hope all is well. Love you! Your Cuz, JAIM
