Have now got 7 days of riding under my belt and am now sitting in a funky internet cafe in the town of Rio Gallegos in Argentina. Rode through Tierra del Fuego listening to Eddie Izzard and Johnny Cash. Not an obvious pairing but they make interesting earfellows. I have been impressed by how extremely friendly and helpful everyone is despite the fact that my Spanish is really pretty abysmal. Arrived in Ushuaia via Frankfurt and Buenos Airies. Spent the flight from Frankfurt explaining to the nice German couple next to me what I was going to do. Thought I had made a reasonable job of it but at the end of the flight they asked me, via another German passenger, if I was a sailor. Apparently the flight is full of German sailors all on their way to Ushuaia. What fun. Weather was good in the evening I arrived in Ushuaia but turned grey the day after. Packed up my bike in a box today and am in the middle of finishing off a few last minute preparations for my trip. Time now only for one final curry in Tooting and two hours of Lost before I depart for South America tomorrow. I am due to arrive in Ushuaia Argentina on 17 January. [View Full Entry]
