Thank you I stumbled across this site while I was doing a search of Resolution Bay.
My family holidayed there in the 1950's and even now, at my ripe 'old age' of 53 I remember the peace, beauty, tranquility and pleasure of that vacation as if it were yesterday.
I believe the Marlborough Sounds are one of the most beautiful places on this earth.
Thankyou for posting your photos and helping me recall that time from lomg ago.
Chocaholics Anonymous Hi Paul
Wellington sounds fantastic - it must be a hard life all this wine tasting and chocolate sampling. I love the sound of Schoc - reminds me of the film Chocolat.
The seal is gorgeous, I bet it was really hard to resist touching them! The pictures are great and the weather looks nice too - lucky you! I bet it was really nice to see Rachael after 3 months - give her our regards and we hope she's enjoying herself as well as working hard!
Love Karen and Keith
NZ ahoy. We're v. envious as we've done much the same trips at Jenny's insistence! Do the lambs in Wellington all wear white wellies, must be the derivation of the word. Lets have more photos of Rachael, love to you both. J and J. PS Have sent a copy to your mother.
Some have all the fun!!! enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. What a wonderful trip you have had. PLeeeeeaaaase keep the news coming. Brightens our otherwise dull day.
Highs and lows! Hi Paul, what places you have been and are still visiting! The highest city yet one of the most exploited places on Earth. The salt flats are visible from Space as far as Google Earth goes so I can track your movements that way too!
You lucky barstard ! Hi Paul. Once in a lifetime experience ? definitely. If I had known, and you could of waited six weeks, I would of gone to Peru with you. Looks and sounds fantastic. Love the photos. Can you get some of women with pointy tits please. Cheers, Steve.
Tarantula Right, that would be me all done and back to the airport for the first flight home.....
There is no way on earth i could sleep anywhere near a tarantula....
Makes my skin crawl...
Keep the updates coming Paul, love reading them, takes me away from the hum drum of life in the UK.
Great Pictures! Hi Paul, these latest pictures of Machu Picchu are fantatic, you've really captured the place for posterity! We got back from our travels on Friday having only travelled a mere 2500 miles in our Ford Focus to Austria and back. We had a lovely time and Hedy really enjoyed it which bodes well for the future! Another month to go today, look forward to your next posting.
Regards, Simon.
Comment from Mum and Aunties Lovely to read and see your journeys. Thinking of joining you! wish we could.
Read from beginning to the end, Paul and loved it - Love from Mum in Hexham.
1-0 Our first game was'nt totlly convincing but historic nonetheless. We have only beaten Columbia in '98 in an opener in a major tournament out of 8 starts recently (World and European)! Not scoring in the second half is a popular English trait too. I spent the second half in the garden as it was Hedy's second birthday party yesterday and we have had our first heatwave of the summer over the last few days, 29C yesterday. She is now totally overwhelmed with toys if she wasn't before. Say hello to the Incas for me!
2-0 Looks like your last night in Equador should be one of celebration with Equador beating Poland! They are top of the group! Have a good trip to Peru. Good to see some Physics in action at the Equator.
Hidden weapons Looking at the guard on the right would suggest he's got an ouzi 9mm behind his back! I have to say my vegetarian tendencies would be severely challenged in the guinea pig restaurant!
Settling In Hi Paul,
Glad you're settling in over there. Those three year olds can be nothing but trouble! Bet the music sounds a bit different from my limited experience of altitude and the sky is a bit darker blue. Looking forward to seeing your first pictures of the place. Sounds like a set of sprawling villages all connected.
Good journey Hi Paul, hope you had a good journey out and are enjoying your course. We have a 'tat' cupboard at work so if you find any suitable objects on your travels, I'll make sure they get pride of place!
Tequila Did you know that Tequila is a well known cure for altitude sickness....most doctors recommend 4-6 litres of the stuff a day in order to stop the low levels of Oxygen from turning your brain mushy(although many do think that happened to you some time ago)..You also need to ensure that you are fully loaded with tequila when you first touch down on Ecuador soil...so my advice to you is to get slamming....and dont stop until your back in the UK...
