People visiting Cambodia have a couple of things that aren’t really optional, you just have to go there. The first is obviously the temple complex of Angkor Wat, which we visited a couple of days ago. The other 2 are a lot newer but just as historically important and it has to be said not the sort of places you would visit for enjoyment. Fun would certainly be the wrong word. They are the so-called Killing Fields, which we visit tomorrow, and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, housed in a place called S-21 (once a school) which during the Khmer Rouge days was the country’s main torture chamber.
