After a 14 hour flight in the middle seat next to a crying, smelly baby, I finally arrived in Taiwan. Took a taxi to my hostel and everything seems great. My former student, Marco, met me at the hostel and we went to get a cup of coffee. I think he's glad I can help him with his English and I'm glad I have a Kaohsiung connection. Oh- for those of you who don't know, I'm in Kaohsiung which is the second largest city located in southern Taiwan. I can't wait to go explore tomorrow. My first impressions aren't that great- it's about 85 degrees here (at 3 am) and smells a little like rotten eggs, but the people are very friendly and I'm looking forward to seeing the city in the day.
