Andrew and I started the day bright and early. Breakfast at the B&B was light but delicious -- Italian meats, croissants, jam, butter, Italian bread, and cappuccino. After that we walked to Piazza Navona to find our tour of a few old town sights followed by ancient Rome. It was at that point that it really struck me: wow, we are really in Rome!! Andrew has been saying that the city is magic, and that magic captured me this morning. The tour was better than I had hoped. Our guide is an archeologist, and she was smart, interesting, and really friendly. She explained that so much of Renaissance Rome, which makes up much of the modern city, had multiple foundations in imperial Rome.
