5th day / last day - 28 May 2006, Sunday - Siem Reap to KL Finally we stepped into the Siem Reap International Airport, meaning that it came to end of the trip. Our faces & skins still reflecting the suffer from the hot weather for the past few days. In the boarding room, reviewing all the photos we taken … our best site still the Angkor Wat. We would like to thank the temple restoration team, without their effort we may not able to see the origin of the temples. 4th day - 27 May 2006, Saturday - Banteay Srey & Misc Temples Today our main destination is Banteay Srey or known as Citadel of Beauty which is located far from the town and this is the last MUST VISIT temple to us. Due to the long distance, we have to pay extra transportation fees to the Tuk-tuk driver (normal rate = USD 10 per day but now = USD 15 per day). Along the way we got the chance to see many things, for example the local people activities, houses, markets / shops and etc. Finally, we took about 1 hour ++ to reach there. 3rd day - 26 May 2006, Friday - Bayon / Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm, etc After visit to Angkor Wat temple yesterday, we get very excited and waiting to see more others temple today. Today, we did not wake up early in the morning because we’re not planned for any sunrise viewing. We took our breakfast at the “Kopitiam” just next 2 shops from our guesthouse. The Beef Mee-Hon Soup here was strongly recommended by a Taiwanese in the internet website. The ingredients are Mee-Hon soup + Beef + “Tau Keh” + lime (you have to squeeze out the juice and mix into the soup). It cost USD 1 per bowl. 2nd day - 25 May 2006, Thursday - Angkor Wat The best time to visit Angkor Wat is in the morning for sunrise and evening for sunset. “Early bird can eat the worm”, in order to be an “early bird” we have to wake up on 5.00am Cambodia time (6.00am Malaysia time). We took a “tuk-tuk” to the main attraction Angkor Wat. The outer limit of the temple is set by its broad moat. We passed the long causeway that over the moat and lead us to the entrance. As we crossed over the entrance we saw something unbelievable! Wow…..at this time already crowed with many tourists. Hi, everybody..... this is my first time to post my journal. I would like to share my experience in Angkor, Siem Reap with yours. I and my hubby (Lim) spent for our 5D/4N trip over there. 1st day - 24 May 2006, Wednesday - arrived in Siem Reap. It was a clear & hot afternoon. We transferred to Guesthouse by car, which provided by the guesthouse. The first impression on the city was the street very dusty. In addition the traffic was a bit messy too. The guesthouse located just about 5 minutes walking distance from old market. We have booked the room in advanced, it cost us USD 13 per night (without breakfast).
