Today, Dean, myself, and my niece Ashley went to the Boston Science Museum. D and I haven't been there in years. Ashley has never been there, until today that is. Anyway, I asked Ashley if she wanted to go with me because they are having a Harry Potter exhibit. While Ashley and I were in the exhibit, Dean waited for us in the lobby - he doesn't care for Harry Potter. It took us about 40 minutes to go through. I wasn't allowed to take photos inside the Harry Potter display and even though I'm famous for taking photos in places where I'm not suppose to, I didn't do it in here. When you first enter the exhibit, you and the whole group your with stop in a foyer where a Brit in Hogwart robes introduces ... read more

Well, in November, Dean & I went to Edith Wharton's homestead called The Mount. It was amazing. The house was restored to is original grandeur. The restoraton company brought in a local artist to fix all the moldings. He took a portion of the molding and recreated it. Also, Edith Wharton left behind an old fashion 3-D photo viewer. It was pretty neat. In one of the pictures, you will notice the molding around the door. These moldings are just 2 examples of the molding that was reconstructed. Also, if you look closely in the photo Dean in the library, you will notice some more molding that was reconstructed. Dean loved he skullery the best. That's where they cleaned the animals from their bones, maybe even skin it. We walked on the grounds - amazing view. ... read more

My husband and I took a day trip to Newport, Rhode Island, which is about 2 hours from our home. We went to view one of the most popular mansions by one of the world's most families, the Vanderbilts. Their mansion is called The Breakers, due to the water breaking on the rocks in their backyard. I'm so amazed at how people can live in a "summer cottage" like the one we saw. It's Beautiful with a capital b. Even the children had their own house to play in. It's the size of a small one family house and they got to play in there. Everywhere you look, you see golden inlay this and golden inley that along with dolphins and acorns. I've been there before, but not a Christmas time. It was just decorated for ... read more
