Saturday Today was the day trip to Ostia Antica. The bus ride there was only an hour long. We were given a tour of all the ruins by one of the professors, John Nicolson. Most of the buildings were just the hollowed out footprints of what they used to be. The bathhouses were preserved rather well, with the tile mosaics on the floors easily visible. Most depicted elements of water, such as Neptune, ships, or dolphins. The theater was also well preserved, and is actually still used today for productions during the summer. The Capitolum, a temple to Jupiter, was an impressive site to see as it stood higher than all the other buildings, which used to be 4 story high apartments.
