Jake, I love all your blogs. Keep writing often, please. I enjoy your illustration on the board...awesome. That's better than any illustrations I could make!

I'm so happy that you are having fun and can't even imagine how much fun your students are having, whether they realize it or not!! I love the pictures, too! How different your new world is! Let me know what protein drinks you want and by the way, what should I do with all of this stuff in the pantry?? Give my love to Bet and take good care of each other!! ILYMTLIS!! Mom
Hey, Jake. Just saw your mom and she told me about your blog. It's very interesting and sounds like you are having a great experience. I hope you find the time to continue blogging. Congratulations on passing your test. Hello to Bethany. Love, Susan
Hey, Sweetie!! It's so good to hear from you; to get an update! I'm so happy that you like what you're doing! I could not be more proud of you! One week down, 50 to go!! What an experience! I love you and miss you! Maggie is coming today for Deidra's shower and I'm so excited to see her!! All's well with me! I went to a performance at Olivia's school last night and will see them on Easter Sunday! Going to George's with Maggie tonight!! Keep up the good work and the funny, informative updates! MTLIS!! Mom
Wow! Well, you did it this time...brought me to tears through my laughter! These accounts are priceless and thank you so much for them! By now, it is 10 AM in Korea and I'm assuming you have begun your new job. I guess the extra room never showed up and I'm wondering what the others said about that. I'm also assuming that all of the rooms are that small? regardless of how many people live in them? Any recourse? I'm so thankful as you are that you found some good folks to share the experience with and to show you the ropes. I wish I could have heard you singing Piano Man and look forward to it when I see you!! Your Dad would be so proud and I know he is laughing, too! Roger said today that whenever he needs a good laugh he reads your blog! You are getting rave reviews all around here! Please take good care of each other and keep up the narrative. You have so many people here who love you and want to share this with you to the extent that we can. All's well here...I miss you...and I love you more than life itself!
Mom

I miss you so much and love this blog thing so keep it up!! Congratulations on passing the training! I never had a doubt! They are lucky to have you!! All's well here...quiet week and I loved it! Maggie and maybe Emily are coming for Easter and a baby shower for Deidra next weekend so I'm looking forward to that! Have fun this weekend and welcome to your new world!!
I love you more than life itself!!

Yeah! Let's see, who in our family will make the best English teacher? Jake! Don't tell me God doesn't have a sense of humor... Seth Godin wrote a blog yesterday about teachers and he said "If you care enough about the work to be criticized, you've learned enough for today." I love you and I am so proud of you and Bethany!
*I laughed out loud to point 3, a shepherd.
*I read your first entry out loud to Oma/Opa/my mom and pop. I will add your blog to their favorites so they can keep up too!
*This is so fun!!!
Your blog is so enjoyable to read! I know the belt you are talking about! Jason has one! :o) He loves it so much too! You crack me up! Keep Bethany and yourself safe in all these new adventures! I'm so glad that you passed your health exam! Woohoo!
Love you! All of us Beaudoins
Just a couple of things.
1) I would have had a major, major.......problem with the belt thing. I'm sure I've told you this before, but guys wearing a shirt tucked into a pair of pants with no belt is one of my greatest pet peeves. Hopefully that is the first and last disaster of your adventure. And it does qualify as a disaster.
2) I think all future references to "Adam" should be extended to "Adam the Canadian". Reading it in that context near the end, it really flowed nicely.
3) I have more than a dozen blogs bookmarked that I read/check frequently, which is to say almost daily. Yours is now my second favorite.

Congratulations!! OMG You are so funny!! I hope you keep all of this so you can write a book someday!! Congratulations on passing your tests and on surviving your first day of training!! Sounds like the adventure for which you were looking!! I love the whole blog thing and hope its working for you as well! Give my love to Bet and take good care of yourself!!
I love you more than life itself!!

Wow! You're hilarious! Jake, this post was awesome, thanks much for sharing! I loved reading your great details, especially the waiting at the restaurant table...how you finally "made your move," to the front of the restaurant! I was cracking up here by myself!
You two are awesome and you will be wonderful teachers there, good luck in your studies!
I am so glad you are beginning a travel blog. I hope it's updated frequently.
There were four (4) buzzer beaters and a handful of other games that went down to the final seconds on the first day of the tournament. Possibly the best first day ever. Friday's games could never live up to that kind of start (and they didn't) but I am enjoying what is quite possibly the last tournament to be broadcast on CBS.
Stay in touch.

Hey! Glad you made it. Asked a Korean friend for any language tips I could pass along and he gave me a great phrase to use at restaurants to insure good food and service.
"Nae hoebuhkeurapeuteuneun changuhro kadeuk cha isseyo"
You'll have to get a Korean to give you the pronunciation but apparently it's a valuable phrase.
haeng un!

Hey, Sweetie!! Thanks so much for this detailed update of your travels so far!! And for the Skype last night! I loved waking up to news from you and am trying to imagine what it must be like to be there. I hope that your first day went well and that your jet lag gets absorbed soon! Emily will be going back to Texas today after what could be said to be the weirdest Spring Break ever. Your going to SK almost got lost in all of the madness and I'm not sure it's hit me yet! Maybe that's a good thing!!! You can contact me in any way possible...email, blog, Skype, phone, whatever and whenever!! Just study hard so you feel good about your prospects and enjoy each minute of adventure!!
I love you more than life itself!!

Wow! What a day! Sounds like a perfect start to your travels. Glad to hear you are safe and sound in Seoul. That is always a stressful time, between the flight and getting to your destination. I remember lugging three giant bags, just below the weight limit, through Sydney...and they spoke english! haha. I wish you all the best of luck on your tests, hopefully the jet lag is over with now, and to have an amazing time exploring outside of your comfort zone. Emphasis on exploring outside of your comfort zone. :)
I am an American by birth, a genetic Texan, call Arkansas home, always long to be back in the Rainbow Nation, miss Korea everyday and currently live in Italy.... full info
