Another night of 2 hours of sleep...I'm getting pretty used to two hour doses at a time. We woke up at 5:15am this morning to catch the sunrise on the beach. The Arabian Gulf water was oh so warm. I couldn't believe it. It was warmer the further we walked out away from shore. We walked out as far as we could without our shorts getting wet. Our first (real) and last day in Dubai. We are so jetlagged, but I feel we're very productive for only getting 3 hours of sleep. When we flew in last night, it was dark here. So, it was a beautiful surprise to see the breathtaking view from our hotel room! Also, walking out of the plush, air conditioned hotel was jolting. It was like the humid heat monster just punched you in the face. We went to bed around 5am and woke up off and on and finally got out on the town around 11AM. OH MY GOODNESS. What an experience it has been so far and we just landed a couple hours ago. From Seattle, we headed to San Francisco and I had the most productive layover. We took the BART to the nearby mall, got lunch, went to the bank, went to a drug store, and stole free internet from the laptop aisle in Staples :) Although we were still in America, just a couple states away, I felt like an outsider when standing in line to check in for our Emirates flight. It is 1:30am the night before my flight. My alarm is set for 4:10am, so I can squeeze in a quick nap before the journey begins. It actually feels like the journey started within the last few weeks with all the going away gatherings. Thank you all for making some great memories. On June 3rd, our adventure begins. We fly out at 6am to San Francisco. We spend the day there and fly to Dubai in the evening. Based off our flight, Dubai was a scheduled layover. I never thought I would ever visit Dubai...I was so excited! We decided to spend a few days there where we get a chance to see the world's tallest hotel, indoor skiing in the middle of the desert and the beautiful beaches galore.
