Re: the 40 dollar ticket This happend to us as well. We had bought a ticket for families, and when the patrol stopped us he asked us where our kid was. Unbeknownst to us, the family ticket required you to have a child - so each ticket turned out to be 30 bucks. Yeah, sure, we're in the wrong technically, but the patrolman really shouldve heeded the spirit of the law instead of the letter of the law!
I really enjoyed your post about your stay in the Buddhist Temple. I admire your respect for all different faiths too- more people should think that way. My blog is looking for travel photos, reviews, etc, to share. If you have the time, and are able to get through on the Chinese internet, check it out at dirty-hippies.blogspot.com, or email us at dirtyhippiesblog@gmail.com. Continued fun on your travels!
Heather :)

Jason,
It is nice to see you are having such a great experience over there. It seems more like a vacation than a study abroad =). Anyways, be safe and enjoy the place and culture while you still can!
Also, if you have the time, can you post some pictures on what the University over there is like (classes, dorms, etc.)? Thanks!
Here, I have recorded my life's travels as a personal journal and a way to share with those around me.
Also, check out my blog on education: https://perspectivesineducation.wordpress.com... full info
