Ten cuidado,

agradezca por sus blogs Diana and I are enjoying your blogs. We have been saving them to give to Boyce when we see him every two weeks. Your story about subtle differences in words reminds of a time in Puerto Rico I thought I would be cool and order dinner en espanol (can't do the tilde on this keyboard). So, wanting the shrimp, I asked for Camiones: Steve said, Dad, I think you just ordered trucks. But I still got my camarones. :)
loved the monkeys Ansley is very talented with the videos!!! The music choice made me reflective on life in captivity, the pros and cons.....and just what is going on in those monkey's heads when they are looking out at you.
wow I LOVE reading your blog you guys and seeing the photos. I was just commenting to someone the other day about what an amazing adventure you guys chose to do at this point of your life. WE are all pretty impressed back here!!!!!
Love,
Carol
andy's facial nice look -- Andy! Hope the treatment works!!!! I don't think I could have stood the freezing cold water part. Banos sounds great though -- glad you are enjoying it!!!
WOW!! Unbelievable! It all sounds fabulous-what an experience. I'm so glad you have time to communicate, complete with pictures. Life in Flourtown is totally boring in comparison. Oh yes-we got 1/2 an inch of snow yesterday. Whoopee!!
Love, BOB
inner ear Hola,
haven't read through the whole email yet, just wanted to suggest to Andy, could be eustachian tube (inner ear) problems, which I've had off and on; usually connected with sinus build-up, although when I first had troubles it was b/c I lost a lot of weight (back in early 70's, I think). Can be painful; it's annoying b/c I can hear myself talk and it is like a veil over an eye, except it is my ear; also can make one dizzy, which may be doubly so in high altitudes with slimy fruit and not enough helado (helada)?I get it: people run to El Rufugio to escape from mud man.

No hay mucho diferencia aqui No -- I don't think too much has changed. In October 1999, the entire town and area was evacuated, on account of Mama Turungahua blowing (which she never did). Three months later, some of the elders came back with machetes and demanded to move back in...much of their town had been destroyed...not by the volcano, but buy the policia...anyway...most people didn't come back until a year later and many never came back...tourism never quite recovered, but there are plenty of us 'extranjeros' here.
Hola Hi Dunnings! Wow! Banos looks so much the same. Is it bigger than 25 years ago? How about those pointsettia TREES! I recognize those sugar cane stands. You are not missing much here though we are missing all of you. The snow is falling, the skiing is good, and the fog cloud has finally lifted over Tumalo, thank goodness. I hope your panza is feeling better now Shari. Take a horse ride through the eucalyptus trees for me. Nancita
una sorpresa buena Un otro blog tan pronto de ustedes...gracias. Baño me parece como un lugar muy especial con todas sus bonitas naturales.
Cuidate y hasta el próximo blog,
Barb
Miss you! So sorry you had your camera stolen. But your trip sounds like quite an adventure....great memories that your girls will never forget!
We all miss you - stay safe and healthy!

Andy, glad you made it safely with your family. The place looks very nice and the view is beautiful. Enjoy your time there for it will go quickly. Would it be less expensive if we called you or would it be the same? You guys are in our prayers.
yes, I have read that it is a hoax, but it is very interesting and I am still looking for an explanation as to why the water went down straight, then one way and then the other. I am much more inclined to believe some the theory on the pull of the north, south poles and the change at the equator than I am to believe the egg on the nail. The lost camera is a good lesson learned and I can see why so many people here feel so desperate. So, on Thursday, we will buy an overpriced Canon so we can continue to record our trip.
Thanks...yes, initially I was so angry, but in retrospect, I can see what leads people here to feel so desperate. I hope the person who stole it gets enough money for it.
Shari and family,
What a great adventure! I'm sorry for your loss of the camera but it is interesting to think about what you may gain spiritually from what you lose materially. I would so love to take my daughter Maddy (12yo) on an adventure like you are having. Stay safe and let me know if there is anything I can do for you from distant Alaska. It is great to have your blog. -CJ
Taken again! Sorry about the camera; let us know if we can help. BTW, you were also taken by the museum guide re: Coriolis effect... There are numerous links about this urban legend/scam (this comment box doesn't allow links or I'd send one of many); it's simply not true (though hucksters in equatorial countries try to make money demonstrating the "effect").
We are a family that currently resides in Central Oregon, on a small farm. Shari is 48 years young and works as a Natural Resource Specialist in the field of Solid Waste (Waste Prevention, Recycling, Composting). She enjoys music, reading, outdoor activities and sustainable living. Andy is 53 years young and works as a photographer, doing both free-lance work and as a photo-tech at COSTCO. He is also a person of many trades and skills, from car repair to cooking. He is an incredible guitar player and musician. Ansley is 14, and attends Cascades Academy of Central Oregon as a ninth grade... full info
