I was told a story about the people of the Czech Republic. After the collapse of communism over a million citizens gathered in Charles Square, one of the worlds largest. I think that this story sets a good mood for visiting the city. You see some of the oldest building in Europe and because of its beauty, Hitler made sure it was never bombed. The castle on the hill is always looming over the city but because of attractions like this the streets are filled with tourists. The streets and the buildings, churches even bars are beautiful. There is an old church thats now a bar and in the basement there is a revolving brass hear of Stalin, taken from the head of his statue that used to tower over the city. There is now a ... read more

I find myself in Amsterdam writing about Berlin, yes ive been lazy with my writing and im sorry! While Amsterdam is the city of tolerance I feel Berlin is the city of acceptance. This ultra liberal city sets a standard that we should learn from, you look at how quickly such major change has happened. Within my life time this city has gone from a divided and segregated hell to what it is now. Full of every kind of person I people watcher such myself never grows tired of the show. While I will try and describe the feeing in this city my feeble words will never do it justice, its one you must see for your self. You can party until the sun is well over head in Nazi train depots. There is an abandoned ... read more

Copenhagen is a clean cut city with lots of tall blonds, at first glance you think get the impression of conformity and uniformity. Don't let first impressions fool you where ever you are in life. If there is anything Ive been learning is that were all equal and not to judge a book by its cover. Never jump to conclusions or you will miss so much, I know I have. I also intend to stop letting it happen.. OK on we go. It's beautiful wide streets and meticulously kept buildings dominate your eyes. Its lakes and parks offer a beautiful break from the streets. Thousands drift by you in silence on every shape of bike you can imagine. There are coffee shops and pubs on bikes! There and so many people gliding by you in silence ... read more

My last entry for Morocco and how to sum it up. If you have read my other blogs about it you can probably tell I love the country. If not you just may be a little dense. My words this time will focus on Chefchaouen. Picture a small and Arabic city nestled into the side of a mountain. The city's walls are painted baby blue and arsenic white. Its a city of music and art, where life slows down and one can take time to absorb the subtitles. From a giant bumble bee floating from flower to flower or a sweet breeze rolling in from Mediterranean from the north. Sitting, taking in a sun set wreathed by the milky way, covering every color one can see and ended with echoes of 20 men at their Mosques ... read more

I find myself sitting and reflecting on the last two weeks I've spent in Morocco. Its feels like a lifetime of experiences and is almost overwhelming trying to think it into words without losing the magic. I'm not trying to sound a hippie, but the affection I see in most of the Muslim population is a model many parts of the world should take a look at. Its a were all in it together feeling. Dont get me wrong, there are a lot of scenes and experiences that make it far from perfect. In one street you can see heated arguments, children huffing, poverty or a fathers tender hand passing on his knowledge, a mothers embrace and strangers speaking as if there brothers. I find in my culture were all strangers to each other and and ... read more

Morocco, An escape from Europe. One may ask themselves why you would need to get away from Europe. After a couple months of high summer prices, american teens and a large variety of drinks.. You need a break. So one day sitting in Lisbon the thought bumped into my head to run to Africa. I couple days later I landed in Marrakech. The flight in on Ryan air was heavily air conditioned, filled with a great conversation and a little bumpy. When the jet landed and opened up we were greeted with a blast of 50degree air and a new set of smells. The first feeling of the heat here is an ancient one. The earth has not cooled here in the history of humanity and a deep power is felt from the intense heat. You ... read more

My time in Lisbon was spent with a family of 5 on a work exchange. I was happy to get to learn how to tile, it's something ive always been keen on. It's a rewarding kind of work, when you can look back and see a finished produce. It's not without it's frustration's though. Same with the family. Im not used to the mom and dad thing and being around 3 kids 10 - 17 freaked me out bit at first. Lisbon is a cool city with a lot of hills, it's very easy to get lost in the steep streets. The beaches are a bus ride away, a little far for me but there around the corner. There is a huge dirty river and some modern buildings that were not worth taking pics of! ... read more

A few days spent in Lagos were a good investment in my mental health. Met with old friends, rented a flat and spend our days nestled into beach's surrounded by sheer cliffs, blue skies and the Atlantic. It's a very beautiful place and has the tourists to prove it! Not that im one to judge. One highlight would be the fish market and cooking up seafood feasts. Im excited to see the hard coast of Portugal on our trip to Lisbon. Keep tuning in and I'll keep it comin.... read more
