I love traveling with just a pack and the clothes on my back. It's so liberating to have so few possessions and no responsibility or obligations. Worries and stress of every day life just melt away whenever I'm about to embark on such an adventure.

September 24th 2011

Sept 24th - Sept 28th 2011 This was my first all-inclusive trip. Usually I prefer to travel backpacker style, with few actual plans and lots of time to explore and meet new people, but I also enjoy trying new things and my mum and her Curves group were putting together a trip to Bermuda with a super good deal I couldn't resist. I haven't gone on vacation in two years so I figured I would treat myself plus I really like travelling with my mum. Because we were many, we got a good deal on renting an entire bus to get us to the docs in New Jersey. 50$ each way and when the bus pulled up at 4am Saturday morning I was stoked!!! I was just as stoked to see that it was all sleek ... read more

June 8th 2008

June 02 - 04th 2008 I forgot to mention yesterday that it's nearly impossible to drive around in Saint Thomas. I thought England had narrow little roads but here they have narrow little roads that go up and down and all around. Parking is just as difficult and even my dad (a seasoned driver/parker) had problems. As we attempted to get out of our parking spot for the night in front of our B&B my dad backed up into a ditch and scratched the bumper very noticeably. I knew it was bugging him all day but what can you do? What's done is done. So we decided to spend the morning driving around then went to Mahogany Runs golf club to play 18 holes. I am not a golfer but my dad is fanatic so I ... read more

June 05-07th 2008 The best day of our Vacation happened today. Got up early, had fresh pancakes for the 5th day in a row. Yum. Then we went to our EcoTour!! This is where they give you a brief briefing as to what you're going to do (Kayaking through Mangrove forest, hiking along the beach and snorkeling in protected waters of a coral fringed mangrove nursery) get you to pack as lightly as possible cuz you don't want to sink your kayak, fill you up with fresh water, apply layers of sunscreen and off you go. I've never kayaked before so I was psyched!!!! We ended up being a pretty good team my dad and I except for when he decided to drive an 8 year old kid into the mangrove trees because (in my dad's ... read more

May 30 - June 01st 2008 Got lost on our way to the airport ... haven't even LEFT Montreal yet and we're lost! LOL. Well, we find our way early enough to catch our flight. This is the first time of all .... 3 trips I have taken that things have gone PERFECTLY. No delays, no bumps. If anything we were suppose to leave Montreal to Philly to Charlotte to Saint Thomas and we ended up catching a direct flight from Philly to Saint Thomas. Not saving any time but saving an oportunity for disaster. We slept in Philly at a hotel. I would have just slept on the floor of the airport but seeing as I was with daddy, we decided to get a room. Good thing too because I had a fabulous sleep!!! Philly ... read more

May 1st 2008

July 8th-10th 2007 Sue and I decided to sit on the second level of a double decker bus that took us from Lands End to Saint Ives. Thank God we didn't care much about our appearances because the wind completely turned our hair into something that resembled brids nests but we took many pictures along the way. Sometimes we travelled the coast and other times we travelled inland with a scenery that looked more like what the UK should look like. Full of flatish grass land with farms and many, many sheep grazing. We ended up hanging out for a bit and then she went back to Penzance and I checked into my hostel at Saint Ives. Nothing big happened in Saint Ives. I just relaxed next to the Ocean, sketched, tried cornish pasties which are ... read more

April 29th 2008

July 6th-7th 2007 Had brunch with Mario and the rest of the guests early the morning after the wedding at a cute little cubby hole in some random alley where the server/cook didn't even know how to make eggs properly. I'm surprised they were still in business. Regardless, an interesting experience. Once breakfast was done it was time for me to move on. On the ferry ride back, called the Enterprise, to Falmouth I got chummy with the captain and he let me drive/ride/steer ... whatever you do to a boat, like the whole way and at the end I even parked the thing in the harbor. If the other passengers only knew they had moi behind the wheel!!! Hahaha My mission for the day was to get to Saint Michaels mount. I managed to get ... read more

April 27th 2008

April 24th - April 27th 2008 Going to Vancouver for the weekend to party it up with my best friend on her birthday. Seeing as I still have my benefits I may as well profit! This is my first trip to Vancouver outside the airport and I'm really looking forward to it. Many people who travel to Canada and visit both cities say that it's tough to decide which city they prefer for different reasons. Montreal has the can't-be-beat nightlife with a huge variety of foods and endless entertainment during the summer months but it can be a little tireing. Vancouver is a lot more physically active, greener, more outdoorsy and less stressed/more chilled. The pace is slower and the town is cleaner and there's just as much to do in Van as there is in ... read more

April 24th 2008

July 4th - 5th 2007 This is where mum and I go our seperate ways. Mum wants to go see where Princess Diana is layed to rest and I need to go to a friends wedding. A week long backpacking trip alone along the West Coast to lands end and back. I'm very excited and nervous. I have little butterflies in my belly doing spirals because this will be the first time I venture off on my own in a foreign country and while England isn't TOO foreign. It's a start and a good test to see if this is what I want to do for my future travels or not. We're up bright and early, packed and ready to go. The only plans I made was a seat on a greyhound coach and reservations at ... read more

April 21st 2008

July 2nd 2007 Found this great tour that would take us from London to Avebury Stone Circle to Stonehenge to the Old Sarum and finally Salisbury Cathedral. A whole days worth of running around! YAY! Last time we went to England back in 1998 we didn't do this. I don't know why ... maybe it was too out of the way for my mum but this was one of the highlights of the trip this time and we were both really excited! The day was overcast as usual so we both went prepared for a downpour which thank goodness we did because all day long it rained on and off. First stop was Avebury Stone Circle which is the same as Stonehenge except older. Avebury Stone Circle is the oldest stone ring in the world. The ... read more

April 16th 2008

June 30th - July 1st 2007 First time I went to England was back in 1998 with my mum. I was 18 I think and she organized everything and I just had to save up for my flight. It was a pretty good deal to me but you know how people travel differently? Some people plan every last detail (My mum) and others enjoy the rush of flying at the seat of your pants never knowing what's around the corner and then there's the many gradients in between which is where I stand. Since my excursion to Australia I've discovered the type of traveller I am: I plan the basics. For example, flights and other means of transport and sometimes hostels well in advance and leave the rest up to the wind. I enjoy a tiny ... read more
