In the Land of Oz ...
Great photos, Brendo and looks like you had perfect weather for sightseeing. :) Pleased to see that you survived the steepest railway in the world. What a ride! And dinner at the Hydro - such a great way to end the day and, how about those views? Hope that you have taken home many happy memories of memorable times and, also hope that we get to see you back in the Land of Oz again somewhere a bit further down the track.:) Jxx

I think I can pull this look off

Down Under Chef
I think this is a good look for you! A must if you need to BBQ anything, at the least!

I think I can pull this look off

Thanks Andrea
Good point. I should wear it at work on BBQ days.

Singapore!
You should absolutely go to Singapore; it's one of my very favorite cities. I'll be in Singapore next during the first week of January 2018, let me know if that matches up with your travel plans.

I am leaning towards it
Thank you Karen. I recently read your blog about you venturing further out of Singapore and vising a new temple. Your blogs are one reason I am leaning towards Singapore. I will be in contact if I am able to make it.

Thick as thieves
A grand trip down under! Thanks for taking us along. We have first hand knowledge that time with the Hopper's is full of fun, laughter, insane comments and a few adult beverages. Glad you had a great time.

Grand trip indeed
Each trip is different, and this one was a perfect one for fun, laughter, and insane comments starting with Cindy in Perth and ending with Dave, Denise and Jo. Ah, the memories.

I’m a sucker for an ordeal
Sometimes in life you meet that someone that requires no introduction, no needing to explain oneself to, you just dive in head first & just be. They are fleeting & joyous times. So here’s hoping for more “ordeals” shared Brendan xxd

Same here
You have summed this up perfectly. When things are meant to be, they are easy. And this was. Thank you.

Beautiful Blue Mountains
I'm so glad that you've enjoyed the natural beauty and splendour of the Blue Mountains; a delectable repast in the lovely Art Deco Hydro Majestic and some naughty larrikin behaviour with Jo, Denise & David. It all sounds worthy of a return visit before too long!!

I am very glad too
This was a wonderful day and perfect end to an amazing trip. Art Deco Hydro Majestic, what a place. I hope I can one day return.

That was Quite an Ordeal
The comment that only we understand. Really cracked us up as I recall. Happy days! I note Saturday to Wednesday in Sydney to your North American thinking is only 3 days...proves that time flies when you are having fun...and didn't we have fun! Absolute delight to have you as our guest Brendan. And thank you for your own generosity. Denise & I will remember our time together for ages. By the way, is 3 days "ages"?

Wed was only for travel
I couldn't bear to count a day flying away from Australia as a day. Only the good times count. You are right, time flew by and we had an incredible time. Lasting memories and friendships were made.

I love your travel agents!!!
What an amazing time had by all.

I couldn't have said it better myself
You are spot on there. An incredible time really was had by all.

Pacific Play
What a great day. I'm glad you respected the jelly fish and only photographed it. Loved all the leg photos. I'm glad you got to walk David and Denise's backyard. Lots going on back there from what I"m told. MJ

Wiser with age
I had never seen anything that looked like that, so was not going anywhere near touching it. This was a very fun day. I wish I had been able to spend more time out in their backyard. The park is immense and I can tell there are more stories buried out there.

Fish 'n' Chips by the Sea
Sounds like a wonderful end to a wonderful day :) The beach and sea views look amazing.

It was just what I needed
The entire day was great and fish and chips just capped it off perfectly.

Travel Blog Meet Up
Wow, what an amazing experience it must have been to meet up with so many Travel Bloggers who you've been in touch with for so long. I bet indeed many travel stories were shared that day in Sydney :)

TravelBloggers
Thanks Alex. It was a very nice surprise to meet so many TravelBloggers. What a unique and eclectic group of people we are, but there is a common thread that connects all of us. Living where you do, you may have the chance to meet some as they visit. I hope you will have a chance to.

Tourists and Travellers
I love your distinction between tourists and travellers. I completely agree with you, and much prefer to be the traveller myself. Sometimes you just have to be the tourist though in order to see such amazing places, and I, like you, often find myself having to find peace with it, as sometimes it's just what you've got to do. Amazing photos, and what colour and contrast between shade and light :)
11th April 2018

It is a struggle for balance
Thank you Alex. I had a felling when I wrote this blog that many would be able to relate. It is something that comes with the territory sometimes. Seeing the color and contrast made it all worth it. I am glad you are following along.

Sipping coffee & listening to the birds!
Such wonderful decadence I say! There should be more of it. Pleased to read Brendan that you've walked a bit of the Great North Walk; something that I did over a weekend a few years ago. Must do it again. Thanks for the photos of the beautiful Pacific Ocean at Whale & Palm beaches. Once you're settled back home do get yourself a copy of Simon Winchester's "Pacific The Ocean of the Future". It's a great read and to quote some of the blurb on the back of the book; "Following his acclaimed bestseller on the Atlantic Ocean, Simon Winchester presents an utterly enthralling account of the Pacific and its pivotal role in the modern world." I'll second that!!

Decadent for sure
Thanks for the comment and book suggestion Michelle. I will look that up. Yes, this was special day. I had a great set of tour guide/hosts who made certain I was getting a taste of the real Sydney.
