Hi, Cheryl!
Cheryl, I read through several of your blogs and found them remarkably informative. Especially entertaining was your visit to the Blue Lagoon. Am amazed at how prolific you are even on vacation! Am now myself off for my version of working too much on vacation -- backpacking in the Tetons. I hope that the rest of your trip goes well and you return home safely. Bye for now! -- Mitch

heh, Shrink wrap
the title of the email that travelblog sent about this post was "Cheryl M. Hammond, Shrink-wrapped". I immediately had to discover what that was about. I was mildly disappointed to find it was merely your bag wrapped, rather than some new sort of Spa treatment. I wonder if we could get away with that in the US? It'd keep the TSA from sneakily pawing through my underthings.

Some comment
"Olga M. was unimpressed to hear that a former Soviet submarine had also been docked and tourable for several years on the Seattle waterfront" - I would add that not only there, also I believe I saw a couple of them in Providence, RI and in Long Beach, CA near the Queen Mary ship.;-)

Unnecessary quotes..
Is it wrong that what I really got out of this was five minutes of laughing at the pictures on unnecessaryquotes.com? Also, love it that you found the Olgas!!

Very interesting trip and notes!
We had a good laugh at all the problems you have had on this trip! A Joyce couldn't log into your travelblog so I cut and paste into MSword and sent it to her. She said your trip is very interesting! I agree! Got 2 Polish postcards from you today - love them! Thanks.

We, your loyal readership, expect more prompt updating. Get on that, eh? Priority 1: helping us vicariously live through your travels. Priority 2: the actual travelling. Also, I totally read your entries to Vanya and Archie. Vanya would like to make sure you bring him back some delicious Baltic cheese.

Jet lag!
It sounds like your first night was a lot like our first night in Salisbury. We went to what turned out to be a pub for locals and were pretty much clueless. Joe was out cold by 7:30pm and I joined him about an hour later. Then I woke up at 3 and did that same forced doze. I'm so glad you guys are having a good time. Greg's *huge* smiles in your pictures are all I need to see. :)

Familiar pictures!
You made it! First picture I recognized right away from 1970s! Beethoven house has the familiar 4 flags historical markers. Much clearer pictures! Get close ups of the signs for descriptions with your pictures. Keep shooting lots more! Archie is fine, house is fine, we're fine.

RE: INTJ with spontaneity
Hola! I'm not the kind of girl that posts comments, but inspired by an act of spontaneity of an INTJ, then I proceed. Good for you and your cat Archie that you dared to change plans for your cats well-being, even if that meant you had to recognize a "mistake". I'm an INTJ and it takes me a lot of time to make a plan cause I intend it to be perfect, and I'm so sure of the final outcome that I have a hard time changing it. Mostly because it will mean to admit that I didn't saw everything in advance. But, with time, I've learnt that no matter howw much time or effort we put in designing our strategies, there are things that we cannot know in advance, and once we face them, we find there are better ways of doing it. And even if it's a little bit embarrasing, it's better to admit it and modifie our plans, specially for the ones we love :) So, congratulations and it will be nice hearing of more of your trips :) Laurie (A fellow INTJ who recently switched career surprisingly inspired by... love, ha, as weird as it may sound for a rational like me! :P

From Aunt Jean...
I just saw the added France portion, have seen the rest. Dauchau, next set, and now the France. Nice to "share" the trip. Quite different than when we went with Schmelzle's. We spend more time in the country around Munich-Bad Aibling where Christiane lives, or way up N. at Norden on the seacoast.
