Enjoyed your blog and pictures and glad you we okay during the typhoon! We saw it on the news. The beach look amazing!! Weather at home has been okay. September was beautiful, October cool and we have had a few skiffs of snow.
Welcome to Asia Great to know you are both just across the straights. Enjoyed your sense of humor and I know that without it, you can't make it in Asia very well. Taiwan is the place to learn Mandarin - their's is such good, clear Mandarin.

Loved it! Hi! Sure enjoyed the blog, especially the ride home with the ironing board, etc... It would have been great to see you both on the scooter with all that stuff!
Taiwan is like Japan with the 7-11's... that is how they use the map and find places.
You know we have dummies that work on the road construction in Canada too! :)
They are not as cute as that dummy though, especially the glasses!
Love the map that shows how close you are to home... Take care, and be careful with that scooter!
Missing you After reading about your adventure, I just had to call but alas, it was too late and only Maurice was able to answer. I will use my math skills to add the 14 hours onto the time to call next. Life is beautiful in Saskatoon this morning ... lots has transpired, as always life is ever changing but not at the pace you are experiencing overseas. I laughed outloud thinking of the ironing board on the scotter, etc. The picture brough it back to size with a smaller version of what I was thinking. Thank you for documenting all the interesting facts ... luvluv, Joanne
Great Blog!!! Hi Linda and Maurice
Loved your blog, especially the Taiwan notes of interest. Some pretty amazing info. The traffic system sounds crazy!!! We are having a very warm fall, but not as warm as you guys!! However, it was 32 degrees yesterday. Take care.
Looks like SO much fun You must be having a great time. Loved the Mud Volcano and the amazing lights around the park at night, Wedding Beach. Glad no one was hurt when you collided with an SUV.
Sounds awesome! We are vegging in our London hotel room this morning. We will be touring London Bridge and the HMS Belfast (war ship), this afternoon, which means we had a lot of time to enjoy your blog! It looks and sounds great! Sounds very Japanese actually...
We are going back to Canada tomorrow a.m., just a 9 hour 20 min. flight... your trip over sounds like how we went to Japan.
Thank you for sharing how your apt. looks, and what life has been like. Are the 7-11s like in Japan, where they are on all the maps, and that is how people figure out where they are?
Great also to hear Maurice is volunteering in the school, we know how much the teachers appreciate that! Perhaps he can listen to young students trying to read English?
Good luck with everything, Stay well, and keep the news coming! love, Annette and Lionel
Cuba Wow, your cuba adventure looks amazing. Did you arrange the tours on your own or were they pre arranged. Sounds like you really got to experience the Cuban culture!!
No Tours No, we did not have any prearranged anything. Our original host, Jose, Francesca's brother arranged all of our casa particulars, otherwise, it was all by the seat of our pants!
Thailand Wow, what an amazing blog of Thailand. Brings back many memories. We also stayed at the Rikki Inn on Koh San Road! We loved all the street excitement!
Thanks for the great recap of your Thailand adventure! Hi Maurice and Linda, Thanks for sharing these wonderful photos and the story of your travels...seems exciting and I'll look forward to the day when we can chat personally about this 2013 adventure that you've lived! love and hugs, Annette
