mmm...delicious... nom nom nom
hahaha! You two are wonderful! Those photos *are* great! Oh wow -- the rice is So Greeeen! Mmm I just want to roll in it or something... lol! How are y'all so dern cute!? That shot of you in the boat?? I could just pinch your little cheeks right off! I realize i end up chatting with you lots about food, but here you are appreciating that everywhere you go, and so i don't mind doing the same from home. I am house/Ben-sitting for Moose and Stanley! I recently here succeeded in making a Very Kick Ass Curry after about a year's practice. It's not perfect, but it is definitely Goood! Last night, I dreamt that i was eating this strange, possibly-Turkish dish, from a Turkish-esque Mex-I-Can-type place. I'd asked for the only veggie meal on the menu, but the rice/lentil side dish was loaded with these strange chunks of mixed meat (which, incidentally, looked like maggots). I was having dinner with Adam Carter who was mowing down a similar dish, and what does he say? "Just eat it -- it's probably not even real meat anyway... ...right?" Hahaha! It's delightful to see you about to bite the head off that cricket carcass, Brian ^_^ Jenna! I had a scary dream about you! Are you okay?? Did you meet your Bagel/Sandwich quotient while in Laos?? Why do you folks keep getting into my dreams, anyway? Aw, you're both just so... dreamy :P Haha, okay, i'm starvin, Marvin! Off to Breakfast! Weee! Lots of Love, millie

Bombs
I don't understand why the USA has any reputation other than nasty, aggressive, war mongering bully. Yes, I grew up there but did not realize how bad it was until after I was away.

River Cave - No Lights
OK, the idea of cave sounds great but then . . . no lights . . . and being in a cave with water. Does the river ever rise to close off the cave? I've not been too faithful to the no wheat product diet but I've not had a bagel in a long time. I might just have to have one after your description. I know this place on Lock Street.

City Life
Glad you had fun in Bangkok but I am just as pleased, at this time in my life, to be on the farm where it's quiet except for the howling of the coyotes every night.

A line of pigs blocking the road...fun!

bagels
I'm now thinking of FNB @68 james and the mass of bagels we'd have left over for days...perhaps you've been dreaming of that along with sandwiches?!?

Love the idea of climbing but I am not sure about the mud slick ropes. Hope you survive Bangkok!

Garden Work
Sounds as if you had a great time gardening. Not sure about competing with wild pigs for food however. Finally had a couple of cool days here in Ontario. Temperature dropped from 30 to 10 in a couple of days. Going back up soon again but at least there is the possibility of cooler weather in the weeks to come.

Malaysia
My impressions of Malaysia were somewhat of the reverse since I came in from Thailand. Haven't had enough time to assess yet, but I first noticed the prevalence of Hijabs. Not to say that Malaysians are necessarily conservative, I'll have to observe that. Maybe it's because I'm in Langawi but things are definitely cleaner here than in Thailand, and English is much more prevalent. It's sad to read that India is more repressive of women and it's not something that I thought of before. The violence too, I'll have to check that out.

hey! it's me! amelia!
"The first day we got up to feed the animals; a small flock of ducks, turkeys, chickens, roosters, one quail, 4 rabbits, 9 goats and one weirdo sheep." Lol!! ^_^ Hey friends! This is so great!! Careful around those monkeys, Brian! Jesus! Those folk are vicious! Michelle had one nearly eat her arm off! *Shivers* ... that's scary! I'm so happy you had such great fate in finding that farm!! That's the best!! It sounds full of wonder and awesome -- giant centipedes and all! Do you think you'll get the chance to hear of how the veggies gardens go? It must be weird to walk fully into a project and put down so much love for it, and then just be off again. No? I was especially happy to hear about the fermenting going on, and i'm excited to start back at this again as soon as i can (hoping i can find a new crock ... maybe two) -- i really want to learn more about the biology in that, rather than just know 'it's good for ya!'. Do you have any more photos or stories from the farm?? Michelle said the exact same thing about Thailand -- everyone is smiling! Colour everywhere! She was also there during Red Shirt rallies, so maybe some of what i heard was a tad askew by that. I'm excited to read what your next story will have to tell! Take good care, friends. Lots of love for both of you! <3

Beautiful
Papaya! I think that is my favourite fruit. Makes me miss the first house in Florida, with papaya, lime, lemon, grapefruit, pineapple, carambola, etc... Now I'm going to eat some pad thai...

z-z-z-zombies
"It is just nice to be in a modern city again and to not be stared at by crowds of gross men all day every day." hahahaha oh wow. i'll spare everyone the rant ;) On the other hand: Yay Womyn!! I like seeing them places, too. Yknow, here n there. Lol! :D What does KL stand for? I'm new. :P Uuhm, thanks again for those great emails! Haha, it was so funny to hear you'd dreamt of zombies the next night, too! I think it had a lot to do with fear i've been holding in about all the g20 shit, fear of getting raided again. i think that was worse for me than the arrest in some ways... Oh! Jenna! I totally had the best sandwich in the world after your indications: kraut in the sandwich -- yum. Sheep and veggies and eels sounds so good. I'm really glad you two are well! <3

nice photos
oakville gone india, eh? ...eeee.... That was a cool reflection you had about how to know anything, how perception from afar can be really misleading sometimes. It's cool you got to learn and discover more, for yourselves, in fleshspace. Thanks for uploading these pics -- i really dig that one with arabic script! Is that carved in marble??! That's really neat! So intricate and beautiful : )

Ipoh
Hey Brian, Great blog. I was just reading it with a girl I work with. She was born in Ipoh. One of her uncles lives in Kochi and her aunt lives in Kuala Lumpur. She also has an uncle that lives in Brisbane. You could have stayed with all of her relatives. Dale

Tropical Island
Not a bad place to be diving and jungle trekking. Meanwhile, back on the farm, it's Canadian hot i.e. humidex in high 30's low 40's; rain several times a week with lots of vegetation trying grow taller and taller especially our lawn. Weather was predicted hot and dry. Only the hot part was correct. Starting to have cooler nights so sleep is possible most nights again. Could be worse. News report said that 700 people a day are dying in Moscow due to heat and smog and smoke pollution due to many forest fires in Russia and the hottest summer there in over 100 years; Pakistan is flooded and China is having massive mud slides. Make the tall grass seem not so bad. Plan B is busy. We are making shares in the new building and work in underway to put in the new freezer. As usual, lots of people coming and going.
