Want the fish foot treatment!
How cool is that?! And why don't we have the fish foot treatment in Canada? Great pictures Andy - spectacular history! What is the time-line for these ruins? Some of them look as old as those we saw in Greece - BC. xoxo

Oh boy, you left me speachless....
Goodness - what an experience.... so thankful to see it through your eyes... don't know if I could have taken all the sadness at man's inhumanity towards man. But this is all part of your travels, so I'm glad you've captured it, so very tastefully. Your writing is excellent Andy and you will have such a wonderful book of travel documentary and gorgeous pictures when you return home. I'm so glad that you are having joyous experiences with new-made friends and beautiful scenery as well, so as not to become overwhelmed by the harsh realities you've seen. By contrast, our Florida trip was child's play! But playing golf in the sunshine among the palm trees was refreshing nonetheless - and the bonus is that Spring is slowly arriving in Ontario. Think of you often and pray for your safety. xoxo P.S. Don't forget to wear green tomorrow to celebrate your Irish heritage.

Opera?
Lol, you're right! Travelblog doesn't let you SEE the photo you're captioning, other than a minuscule thumbnail. You can see in a later photo that I got it right ;)

Party offices (Trung told us city hall)

Opera?
Thats the Hotel de Ville, the communist parties offices, not the theatre! :-)

I'm a die-hard
Andy! Great stuff! I'm stitting in my room recovering from a cold, but your blog makes it easy to escape into another world of awesomeness. I would have no problem writing my blog out there! I could live on $100 a week way too easily.

Hoi An Highlights
Hi Andy, From a 'die-hard' reader, thanks for the awesome blog including the accomodation for Hoi An, will be there in late April. All that for only $20?- wow.. I am so excited to see the brilliant photos. Happy travels :)

Thanks Auntie Jane!
I AM having a great time! I'm learning a lot about the rest of the world and life in general. We're keeping ourselves updated on the dicey areas (which are a lot) and the government of Canada keeps us updated. I'm registered with them and they send me warnings! For once the system works well ;) Thanks for the hello, and for reading!

Hope you have an amazing time!
Hey Andy! Hope you have an amazing time. You have worked so hard to get through school and at work....you deserve to have some fun and see the world. Lots of time to work when you get the travel bug out of your system. Be well, stay safe and stay out of the "dicey" areas of the world that are upside down right now....lots of tension in many parts. Take care of yourself... Auntie jane

Danang, Hoi An and Hue
More great adventures! Love reading your blog and seeing the sights through your pictures. The wooden bathtub scene was hilarious! And I love the picture of you on the scooter with your 'tough-guy Harley look'. What history you are seeing! Can't wait to read more. Will have to bring my computer to Florida to follow the adventures - we leave Tuesday for a week of golf. Kaitlin is here this weekend with her friend and tonight is Lady Ga Ga. Very excited - although you've already had the pleasure! Enjoy your new adventures and be safe. xoxo

My Cave-orite!
Sounds like an awesome adventure! You're going to have so much to talk about for the rest of your life all in one year! Awesome! The part where you had to squeeze through to get to the other cave would have terrified me. I can't stand closed spaces like that, I got anxious just reading about it!

Contrastic!
Keep up the writing Andy! It's my escape from real life. Are you still on the eat part of your journey or are you on pray or love? lol

A City of Contrast
The conversation we had in January about travelling through poverty-stricken areas really stayed with me. I think about it in each place that I visit, but I still don't have a solution...

Ha Long Bay
Wow! Another great adventure! How will you ever pick the photos to adorn your walls, when you return to Canada? They're all spectacular and I assume you have hundreds more that haven't made it on the blog - which are equally spectacular! P.S. Should I acquire an Aussie accent, so that when you get home, you can feel like you're still on tour? You've sure met your share of interesting people on this adventure! xo Be safe!

Sounds Amazing
Lol, I love that even the roosters take new years off and shut up. Great entry. I can totally hear your voice when you write and I feel like I'm right there with you! I look at the picture of Trung and I'm picturing you sitting across the table from Trung's overjoyed face after your 3 hour airport ordeal and wanting to strangle him. lol
