NAMASTE!!! Welcome to “Travel Tuesdays with Marlyn” were I will be discussing my own experiences during my travels, how to best fund your ‘Dream Trip’, tips and advice on traveling as a women alone across the world but most importantly, how to take a bite into different cultures by eating the local foods and drinking the local drinks!!! This is one of my favorite parts of traveling. Submerging yourself in the culture, food and learning the language can only enhance your experiences during your journey and making it that much more memorable!
I’ve done my share of traveling and I’ve been EXTREMELY fortunate to have such opportunities arise in my lifetime! I can’t help to thank my Parents, my brother and sister and her husband and of course all my friends and family that have always supported me reach all of my crazy goals. I get mixed reactions when I tell people of all the little projects that I have going on. Some examples are making candles from scratch, selling and making my own jewelry, and helping the less fortunate stay warm during the cold seasons and many more in between! Doing the same thing can get a little boring so I like changing it up every now and then! Keeps me thinking and motivated to do better!
In my lifetime, I have wished to obtain a job where I can help people be more self sustaining and happy. It has been a life long journey to master this idea. In the mean time, I have put a lot of my own time and effort to make a difference in kids with both mental and physical problems enjoy their therapy a little more by introducing them to Equine Therapy, I’ve helped over 52,000 people stay warm in the Los Angeles area, Ventura County, San Francisco area, San Bernardino County, and Mexico. I have also helped children in Mexico, Africa, and the USA continue their education by providing school supplies, teaching them English or Spanish, in provided scholarships, and simply giving them hope that education can help them gain skills so they can continue to help those around them as well! I love helping people when they feel that they have no hope. I always say, “There is a solution to every problem, it’s just a matter of looking for it.”
Not giving up is something my parents showed me at a very young age. If you ask anyone around me, they will tell you “I don’t know how she does it but she will find a way”. If I feel passionate about a topic, event, purpose, cause, etc. I will fight for what I think is right. I don’t care who is telling me I wont accomplish it or how impossible it may seem or how crazy of an idea it is, (I’ve been told all of the above and more!) I will set a goal and try to get as closest as possible to it.
All in all, today’s post is a little intro of what has yet to come on Tuesdays! Join me on documenting my “Dream Trip” and share good advice from fellow travelers that I have met or follow online. I’m excited to share my love for travel, things that make me smile, things that scare me, moments that have made me cry, people and places that have inspired me, and share my love for life and making a small difference in this world! Travel can move you in many directions, its just a matter of opening up to the universe and seeing where the road can take you!
Cheers to you getting to know me a little more and bigger cheers to helping you find your travel bug and hopefully help others while doing so!!! NAMASTE and WELCOME!!!
