The Church of the Sacred Heart. Set up high on a hill near the 'artists quarter', was amazing inside and out, and had excellent views over the East side of the city.
Ah! Gay Pareee :) Met up with Mick (the legend) Hutton on Sunday night, and went back to drop our bags at his (very cool) apartment. Had dinner at a nice restaurant down the road and then chatted 'til pretty late into the night. Monday was a public holiday in Paris, so we got to spend it with Mick, which was great. Wondered around a few of the old precincts, and checked out a couple of th big Cathedrals whilst stopping regularly at cafes, bakeries and restaurants to sample the cuisine and drinks. Spent late arvos 'til early morning at a [View Full Entry]

Leaving Amsterdam
Leaving Amsterdam
Spotted a few windmills on the train ride out of town
Talk about a big 24 - 26 hours! We had a really lazy day on our last day in Amsterdam - Friday, and had a reasonably early night that night. Our mission for the next two days was to get to Nurburg to have a go on the 'Nordschleife' ractrack, and then get to Paris by Sunday night to meet up with Mick. We left Amsterdam at 10:30 Saturday morning, and arrived after lunch in Cologne where we picked up (the most expensive jalopy ever!) a hirecar. We then drove an hour or so to Nurburg and checked into our hotel. [View Full Entry]

Got a '24 hour bus pass' for the taxi/boats around the old town
Hallo! Amsterdam is really starting to grow on us. Rather than try to see all the tourist spots (thouhg we've done a couple), we're spending more of oour time here just relaxing. Late starts, long lunches and dinners. Walks and canal cruises. The weather has been fantastic - 20 Degrees plus for about a week now. Have been to the Van Gogh museum, seen a lot of the Old Town for 'Canal Bus' and had an eye-opener of a night last night in the Red Light District. [View Full Entry]

This is the 'Empire biscuit' Kerryn had in Edinburgh
Spent the last couple of days in the South of Scotland. Went and saw the Castle in Stirling - had an excellent audio tour. Striling castle is where the Scottish royalty spent most of their time for about 500 years. Went to Edinburgh the next day. Loved the city - all hills and nooks and cranny's. Did a cool tour of 'Mary's Gate Close' which is part of the old town on the side of 'The Rock' and 'Royal Mile' near Edinburgh castle that was built (straight) on top of a couple of hundred years ago, and has only just been [View Full Entry]

Yeah - it's not a ripple in the water, it's the monster - swear!
Hi All, Been a few days - been staying at B&B's with no internet the last few days. Also, did an entry last friday, then forgot to hit the 'Publish' button at the end :) Surprise surprise, didn't spot Nessie, so no fame and fortune there - did find a 'fiver' on the path whilst out for a walk though, so that was a bonus. Had a quick look at Urquhart castle on the loch (couldn't come at the 10 pounds ($25 bucks?) to actually walk into the ruins.) then travelled over to the Isle of Skye. Stopped in Kyle before [View Full Entry]

The Old course - where golf was born.
Dear Diary Scotland rocks! Everyone is so much nicer here. More helpful, happier, and not just 'pretending to be nice' to get a bigger tip. Had some jetlag problems the last couple of days, but had some big sleeps, so we're back on track now I think. Went and saw St Andrews, and the (original) golf course. Stayed at a nice B&B up the roasd in Edzell, where we got about 14 hours sleep (!). Yesterday we went to Dufftown - not where Homer gets his beer, but where the Grant family have their distillery for making Glenfiddich. Did a tour [View Full Entry]

This was at Liberto's(??) in Little Italy - the first pizza joint in Manhattan apparently. Spent a couple of hours warming up and listening to Deano and Frankie.
Hi guys, Went to 'BB Kings House of Blues' Sunday night - very cool :) Had a rainy day Monday, and a slow start. Scored cheap tickets to 'Chicago!' then went on the HoponHopoff bus down to Little Italy , China town and Ground zero. Did a bit of shopping at Century 21 (got some jocks and a shirt - I left both my shirts I'd brought over in the wardrobe of our room in Vegas - Doh!!) - super cheap store. They had stuff like $1500 Hugo Boss suits for $400bucks etc. Went and Saw Chicago, which was really good, [View Full Entry]

New York, New York! Had a 'real' American experience yesterday. Our 5 hour flight, which we figured would use up half of our day, ended up starting at 3:50 am, when we got out of bed to pack and check out of the MGM in Vegas. From there, we got a bus shuttle to the airport, and were checked and thru security by 6am. - the flight was scheduled for 7:35. Boarded 10 minutes late, then got told there was a mechanical issue with the baggage system, and our bags were going to take half an hour to get loaded. Eventually [View Full Entry]

Not much compared to ours in Melbourne, but they do live in the middle of a desert!
So here we are sitting at McCarran Airport waiting for our flight to NYC. Have had an awesome few days here. Been a bit jet lagged 0 had to have a 'nanna nap' each afternoon for a couple of hours. This place sucks you in. Every night we'd say 'Let's get to bed early so we're right for tomorrow, but I think the earliest we got to sleep was 1am :) Day 2 was a 'mini tour' of Vegas - a bit shoddy (See 'Botanical Gardens photo! :), but gave you a fair idea of the city and it's history. 3 hours sleep in the last 48 - not enough!
Howdy All! Had a loooong day. Flight got delayed out of Melbourne, so spent nearly 6 hours at Tulla. Had a really smooth flight to LA, and an easy transfer across to the Vegas flight. One bonus of the delay in Mebourne was that we only had to wait an hour in LA instead of four. The flight to Vegas was smooth, but the banking turns on approach were a bit of an eye raiser! Thought we were going to roll right over! Checked in, did a lap of the MGM Grand then had a 4 hour nap in the afternoon. [View Full Entry]
