Lovely wedding! I am surprised that it took a British/Moldovan couple to be the first to wear national costume for their ceremony. I hope all the trouble with transport and the myriad of certificates has resulted in a loving marriage.
Around the eastern bloc and back unscathed. really enjoyed reading this.. it was witty, direct, and packed full of useful information and detail. How lucky were you to go there. Its just something most of us dream of.
Return of the Edge............ Another epic journey made with another epic tale of adventure.
Think next time you should take slightly less pictures because Marina looks less than impressed outside the University!!!
You'll be able to sell your passport on Ebay when it expires because I doubt many other people will have as many different 'Eastern Bloc' stamps on as you
Enjoy your next trip!

Glad you all had a nice time - can't believe how big Lisa is getting x
Always travel lite!!! With no my Big Suitcase full of presents for our Moldovan family and no baby the trip could be so much different, stressless?, but then your story would may not be so interesting and funny to read! Next time, don't drink with my Moldovan relatives in their wine cellars! Moldovans are much tougher than Brits at drinking! Don't upset your wifey :)
Excellent Wedding Word Excellent wedding suites in your case :)
I like the detail in your story :) wish you good luck and I hope Allah will bless you with happiness...my best wishes to you both.
i have stumbled on your blog and it makes interesting read. I will be going to moldova in november to see my girlfriend and i really like the place. The pace is sedate and the people lovely but my only problem is am black and i really felt uncomfortable becos of the stares i was getting. I stayed for 3wks from july into august and my girlfriend was always on hand to reassure me. She is brilliant and by the way i met her in London studying english and since then i fallen deeply in love with her and we have been going out for a year plus now.Its nice to know am not alone in this and it would be nice to communicate with you again either by phone or mail but i hope your married life is great and fruitful.
Also in Tiraspol I was in Tiraspol too on May9th.Visited the parade to but didn`t see you nor Marisha.

To 'Krissy' Partying until 4pm??? I hope you meant to say 4am or you are more of a lightweight than I already had you down for!! Maybe it was the 3 beers that you drank, that is 2 more than you can normally handle.
Nice of you to take your 6 month pregnant wife partying though!!
Been there and Done That Its good to read about someone else's experiences in Moldova. I too have fallen in love with a very special Moldavian girl; and travel most months to see her. You are right time speeds up as soon as you land in Chisinau and slows down when you land back in Britain. You experiences are so real to me, its scary !!!!
I have been doing a lot travelling and blogging recently. Its great to blow into and blow out again with a fistful of memories that will stay with me forever.
I can never understand people who want to stay in there own city and never want to visit new and interesting places ( Benidorm does not count)
