Alyssa (and Andrew),
In regard to your most recent blog entry (your first blog entry from Nepal):
My friend from Nepal (whom I told you about in one of my earlier e-mail messages to you) said to me, "It's great that they declared Nepal a republic to celebrate her arrival." :-)

Hot to Cold? I'm glad you had a safe trip to Nepal. Sounds exciting. So does this mean you will be leaving the sweltering heat for the frigid cold of the mountains? Can't wait to read the next blog.. Take care.. D
Alyssa and Andrew: Great to hear from you! Kind of a relief, as I was also gettimg a little concerned! So sorry that you both had a few rough days healthwise....hope that both of you are okay now! I guess that is something you almost have to expect, traveling where you are. I love reading the blogs you are writing, and seeing the pictures! Sorry, I have to be a little like a mom...please don't push yourselves too hard, and try to eat as healthy as possible! All my love, mom.
I'm Enjoying Your Trip Too! Alyssa and Andrew,
I continue to enjoy your very well written, very descriptive, interesting, and informative reports -- and your good photos too!
Thanks for taking me along with you!!
Uncle Jim (in Virginia)
The Indian people I was just wondering how you find the people in India. Are they friendly? Do they seem happy? I think most are Hindu, right? But also some Buddhists? Just wondering.
Great to hear from you Alyssa and Andrew, it is great to hear from you, as we were getting a little worried. From what you describe it is not the healthiest and safest place to be in the world. Just be careful and make sure you eat and rest. Other than sounding like a parent, I just want to say that reading your blog is very interesting, and I'm learning a lot from you both. And it looks like the Ganges River is even dirtier than the San Francisco Bay! Take care, Dad
Wow! Sounds like all things considered, you are having a great time! I can see the appeal of being amidst such a very different people/culture! Is it very humid there as well as hot?
Have fun!

No iPhones? We are enjoying your blog and the pictures. What a great learning experience you are having. Wish I could be there too! By the way, the Celtics are playing the Lakers in the NBA finals, but I imagine that is not a real priority there.. Have fun!
Great idea! Great idea, Alyssa! Glad you thought of this to keep us all up to date on your adventure. Hope you have a truly awesome time!
BTW, the cabin should be available to you for a few days when you return. Have fun! Mom
