WOW!!!! Omigosh. You guys are soooo lucky. I would love touring all thsoe temples and stuff. Trav, I need to give you five bucks in return for eating the grasshopper!!!!! It's in return for bribing me to eat calamari with $5. Im at school right now, and everyone thinks you guys are so cool!!!! SO TRUE! Can't wait to see you in may. Keep on having an awesome time, and entertaining us all from across the world. Love you both, Kevin
Wow! Amazing! It's always a treat to hear from you guys. I'm sitting here with freezing rain pinging off my window and suddenly the day doesn't seem so bleak reading of your wonderful adventure. (Although the cricket thing doesn't sound very appetizing.) Habitat for Humanity will be fun - can't wait to hear about that. Take care, be happy - and sending our love - Linda and Dan
Hello from Peterborough When we took our honeymoon we spent a month in Thailand and a month in Bali. We also started our visit to Thailand with a trek from Chiang Mai. Your blog brings back a lot of memories! Have fun

Didnt know you could ride a motorbike I never knew either of you could ride a motorbike...Did ya' do any cool tricks that would fling you both off the back? :D I dispise flat tires now after what happened on our way home from Ottawa...flat tire+7hr. 40min. trip home+no caffeine=boredom to the max. Tubing down that river looked totally awesome. I wanna do it! I wonder why the dude wouldnt ask you what you wanted your hair cut like.....oh well. still looks good. Why does my bro gotta be such a chic magnet when im just an old de-magnatiezed magnet? HAHA! Love you both, happy valentines day, Love, Kevin
Corporation We miss playing cards with you guys. How was Tet in Hanoi? We were in Cambodia so it was fine, but we just arrived in Ho Chi Minh City and there are still remnants of the holidays.
It is far more cosmopolitan here than our joint Chiang Mai experience. And there is some great history here for a 43 year old American. But it's not as beautiful as Laos.
Travis, I am totally jeolous of your Beerlao shirt. I wanted one but didn't realize it until we were in Cambodia. I guess I'll have to go back some day.
Keep in touch. We miss bumping into you guys.
Eric
Hello from Florida! What an incredible adventure! You are doing so much, this blog is wonderful.
You both look healthy and happy! We are all fine. Your Dad is really enjoying his polo here in Florida.
They are having record snow fall in Toronto.
We miss you! Love Beth and Dad
Amazing All I can say is WOW. That ride on the bamboo rafts looks soooo fun, and pretty. But I guess it wasnt fun when Trav got his leg stuck between two bamboo poles....It must have been really hard to steer those things because they are so big. The banana leaf idea is cool. I wanna try it! Is there really a University specially for monks? As ove said every time I talk to you guys...Wish I was there. Love, Kevin
question/challenge Have you two ever considered entering "The Amazing Race"? I was watching it the other night and couldn't stop thinking what a team you would make and what competitors! What do you think? Am I out to lunch or what?
I mean it would be a cake-walk after frogs, spiders, snakes, bats, baracudas, wild monkeys, eels.......cave-trekking in the dark.......
Oh, and thanks for the neat thank-you card. Love the pics!
Look after one another and never quit blogging. Sharon
so cool Wow. All those tropical places are so nice! Apparently the snorkelling maam is VERY rare. Im surprised you even got a picture of one. I heard that they sell for millions on e-bay. HAHA! Im not surprised trav fell out of the hammock. those ones are really difficult to get out of. Its funny that you guys went to Phi Phi islands because im a computer game I have you can go to the Phi Phi islands in those exact bays :D Love you both, Kev
wow Those views are amazing! That buddha is freakishly huge. The sleeping train just has LOADS of privicy eh? is that really all there is? some bunk beds with a curtain? I wouldnt feel safe......

Lynda gets the little ones this afternoon so they will be here for dinner tonight.
I have a 21 lb. turkey. I hope it fits in the oven!

June, 2007
We got married in June of 2007 and figured our backpack through Asia trip had to happen now or never, so we quit our jobs, sold our cars, rented our condo, and booked our plane tickets. Now it's time to teach in Japan and then travel through Southeast Asia!
May, 2008
