Geo: 41.8955, 12.4823I expected to sleep in until midday as I felt quite delirious when I arrived last night. However no, was up, eaten breakfast and out the door by 9.00am. You should see the bags under my eyes. First stop was the Trevi Fountain, only about 500m from my room. So for those who don't know, I visited Italy in 2000 with Grandma (yay!), Aunty Ann (yay!) and my then husband (not so much yay!). Soon as I saw it the tears started. Spent a bit of time thinking about all of that then back on the trail. Visited the apartment we stayed at and moved on (literally and emotionally :)).Excuse me my pasta has arrived. Geo: 25.27, 55.33The flight into Dubai is amazing. Desert desert desert and the suddenly mansions that look like Lego from the air, all square, flat roofs and all exactly the same. The pool size seems to vary with each. Its mid afternoon here and can see about 100m ahead, the rest is dust. Strange place to live although I haven't seen the city itself. Perhaps from the plane on the way out. Just waiting for the next flight. Only 7 hours or do to Rome. More food but definitely drinking this leg. I have no idea what time it really is for me but I haven't had a vino yet. Gotta go ....... read more
